GCHQ is looking for the next generation of hackers and what not. Crack the code and you might become a hacker/spy person.

Also post answer if you work it out.

The Build and Run button is greyed out in x-code... plus it's getting late. So does the code work?

Saw this yesterday - it's a LOT of skilled work to crack it. Seeing as the job is only worth 25k it really isn't worth it, which is probably why the person that cracked it posted it for free on the web.

If you're good enough to crack it without any help, you're good enough for a much better job than GCHQ could offer.

That's a pretty poor salary for quite skilled work, but in this economic climate major companies can get away with offering next to nothing and still be swamped by applications. I had a GCHQ application pack I got from Uni around here somewhere, and the job looks pretty damn boring, essentially normal office work but requiring an extensive background check and something like a 9 month wait before starting work. Whilst GCHQ may well do more secretive or interesting stuff, they'll probably want you to have a Ph.D in some quite specific areas of theoretical math or engineering to do it. If GCHQ do any cracking of codes it will be with their supercomputer. Any work related to cracking of codes other than data entry is going to be looking at finding efficient ways to factor large prime numbers and other quite boring things.

If however the idea of sitting in an doughnut shaped office with other "office" types drinking coffee and losing laptops sounds like your thing, apply Thumbs Up

Yep, it was either a badly designed page or perhaps put together to test 'lateral thinking'...
