I don't know if people have seen this site but the graphic which details all manner of road accidents over the ten year period is superb!

In fact, I don't give a fuck if you have seen it before have another look, it's worth repeating! Click onto your area and you can find individual scrapes you may have been involved in.

To put an image into your post all you have to do is right click an image then click "copy image location".

When you come on here press the image button (Img), right click and then press "paste" then just press the "Img" button again.

It is as simple as that.

In comparison terms the rate of road casualties has not significantly fallen over the last 30 years.... Yet the amount of traffic on the road has significantly increased over the last 30 years!!!

This is compared to before the introduction of the seatbelt and helmet technology...

An interesting fact that when to UK had only 3,000,000 vehicles on the road the casualty rate was 10 times worse than it is now with 30,000,000 cars (note cars not vehicles) on the road!!!!

This is not attributed to various political campaigns, new laws, reduction of speed limits or speed cameras... but to the better technology on the vehicles themselve.... It was show in the same study that the greater the safety on the vehicle (ie - better brakes, crumple zones and airbags) the lower the death rate got!!!

Well less than 20 motorcycle deaths in my area over the last 20 years or so. Am i in the only area that seems to have more passenger/vehicle occupant deaths than any other?

I guess it just goes to show that motorcyclists are generally the most safety-conscious road-users.
