 |
|
Hey all.
I'm looking for a new set of textiles, and just found out that a friend is selling his Frank Thomas jacket, any idea about the quality? I've personally not heard much about Frank Thomas gear, but just thought i'd check you guys' opinions before buying. He wants £50 for it - good deal?
Cheers guys. ____________________ CBT Passed - 22 / 10 / 11 >> Theory Passed - 16 / 02 / 2012 >> Mod 1 Passed - 07 / 03 / 2012 >> Mod 2 Passed - 18 / 05 / 2012. |

Which Frank Thomas jacket? What age, condition and size?
Sight unseen, I'd tell him to stick it on eBay, see if he gets £50 for it, or if you can get it for less. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Yeah sorry guys - Forgot to mention condition etc /facepalm
As far as I can tell, its one of the 'Strike' textile jackets in black and blue, not used much at all so its in pretty fresh condition. Could probably ask the price down to about £40 I think. Looks pretty nice but is there anything 'special' about these jackets? Removable lining or anything? I dunno
Cheers. ____________________ CBT Passed - 22 / 10 / 11 >> Theory Passed - 16 / 02 / 2012 >> Mod 1 Passed - 07 / 03 / 2012 >> Mod 2 Passed - 18 / 05 / 2012. |

I've had a FT jacket for about five years and two offs. One of their sportier short coats, was about £120 back then I think. Couldn't be happier with it. It's got a fair few oil stains, but there's no sign of any of the stitching going or anything like that - although the cuffs have frayed a bit. Still completely waterproof and toasty warm (removable liner).
Got some FT Aqua Shadow trousers to go with it this year (they zip together). Again, totally waterproof (got badly caught out yesterday). No hip armour though, despite having pouches for it. Still, they are the cheaper end of their stuff.
All in all good experience of FT for me ____________________ 'Allo! My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!
