the 3d effect in the cinema is pretty minor anyway, it was good to see it in the cinema though

Picture the scene. Eldest is in the bedroom with her bloke relaxing quietly. Pinky puts the baby to bed in the same room for her afternoon nap. Comes back into the living room and presses play on the dvd. As I was skipping though the adverts the eldest decides her and her bf are heading out and thus waking the baby up as she clatters out of her bedroom.

Blown my chance to watch the movie, Thanks bigshit! https://images.zaazu.com/img/Smoking-Mad-bad-mad-angry-smiley-emoticon-000668-large.gif

Hopefully tomorrow when bigshits at college I will be able to watch the movie.

The 6GB pirate bay version is perfect, just sat and watched it with the missus. She suggested watching it, even knew who all the riders were, and to top it off she went for the kebabs. Mega!

Watched it last night in standard def, 2d. Was good, but I can't help but think Guy Martin is a bit of a dick. Sure, he's got the 'Christopher Ecclestone Dr Who' eccentricity going on, but he also acted like a child after the penalty incident, and he can't even get organised enough to carry his pit pass. Ironically its probably Ian Hutchinson who deserves more attention than Mr Martin as he actually won the bloody thing. Five times no less!

Hmm, don't think having Mr Personality as the star would have made it a better film though. Personally, I thought Guy was great, mainly because he seems to be a child Very Happy

That is part of the issue with racing though, quite often the best racers have nothing in their lives beyond racing, and as such are terrifically dull. Just look at Nigel Mansell and Michael Schumacher. Two of the dullest human beings who ever lived.

Rossi is really the only notable exception.

I'm with Scooty here. Sure Guy is a petulant child who hasn't grown up but he does say that at the beginning of the movie, which I finally managed to watch today. Mrs pinky went to lie down, little baby satan went to her afternoon nap and I went to the TT races with the DVD. Laughing

Fully enjoyed the show. I've seen documentaries about the IOM many times and all basically boil down to the same show just folded differently. This made a good viewing because it gave you the little bit of the history, not that we needed it, but it followed they guy that was tipped to win his first TT. Sadly Guy fell short, or fell off as the case turned out to be.

Personally I'm glad they followed Guy more than Hutchie. Whats the betting that the cutting room floor is littered with hours of Hutchie droning into the camera about how his fitness and focus kept him in front. Not the fact that Connor and Guy battling for the lead and both falling off creating his final win for him.

No doubt about it Hutchie can race bikes but for a 100 minute documentary movie Guy was the wise choice. I remember this years IOM they showed an hour long documentary about Hutchies 5 wins the previous year and it bored the shit out of me. Stick to racing Hutchie, leave the interviews and camera schmoozing to people with character, which, love him or hate him, Guy has it in bucketloads.

Yeah but he talks too fast to be good on camera, doesn't make much sense, acts like a toddler and generally just makes an arse of himself. If he couldn't ride a bike he'd be nothing.

It's his 'don't make no fuss please' BS i can't do with. That and the dummy spitting. Aside from that he's quite funny when he doesn't put on the 'flap-cap' talk. Fred Dibnah he ain't.

Still a film that stands repeated viewing.

I've always liked Guy, but up until recently I only got to watch occasional short interviews with him. What with his TV shows and movies he's getting a bit irritating now with his eccentric stubborn ways. I'm sure if Rossi was on TV too much he would also get a bit annoying, there is only so many times you can say 'fuck' in an interview and it still be funny.

I think your right about Guy struggling if he wasn't a racer. To be that eccentric you really need to be very good at something otherwise people just aren't going to give you the time of day, although I doubt he'd really care much anyway.
