I haven't been around for ages so apologies for that. (Busy Bunny!)

The paintjob on my RK turned into a disaster as I tried to do it all on the cheap. It all got plastic welded OK and the pink wheels went but the actual paintjob all went belly up.

So I guess (as many of you said) if you try and do things on the cheap...

Still it only cost me around £120 and the shop have promised to put it right for free.

So this is how it stands now... Embarassed

Oh yeah and Keith has managed to find a NS125F manual which I'm about to scan. Anyone need a copy? Also I think I sent CDs to everyone that asked but if I missed anyone... anyone else need the NSR125F/RK manual but can't download from G's webpage?

I think it looks good, but not as good as the cbr, so if thats what you paid for then maybe you should get the paintshop to sort it out. Are the decels chrome, cause if they are then thats wicked!!!. It looks a it bare, but definately room for some wicked decels!!!

Thanx. I guess an NSR will never look as good as a CBR but that IS the picture the paintshop were working from. (Believe it or not!) Rolling Eyes

And the decals ARE chrome, yep and I would like to add a few more cos it does look a bit bare. (And I LURV chrome!)

I won't give up - the paintshop agree to redo all the black bits and get it looking more like the CBR. And then hopefully I'll polish the frame, forks, swingarm etc. to a mirror finish to get it all shiny. And I guess an arrows exhaust? You all rave about it so I guess it HAS to be done.

Keep checking the website for updates. I won't keep pestering you all here with the details.

Tell me about it! I was starting to give up on the bike and threatened to just take it 'as was' before it was finished. The paintshop had some serious probs with one of the partners running out on the business.
It DOES look a bit different in real life from that picture but the ones on me web site show all angles and are pretty realistic.
The finish on the wheels is the best bit and again the web site shows 'em better.

Oh yeah, the front indicators...
I got the paintshop to fill and sand the big holes and I'm fitting flush mounted jobbies. (Iridium at the front and dark tinted at the back on the tailpiece). Then I can chop down the rear plate holder and prob fit a smaller plate. I was never a fan of the big front indictors I'm afraid.

Then just sort the black bits, fit an arrows exhaust and the alloy polishing....

Watch this space!

I am indeedly on the road, albeit with big 'L's slapped on the bike, but I've only been out on the bike 3 times in the last 3 weeks!!!...dang weather and Uni...oh well...I was hoping to be taking my test this Easter, but I'm not so sure now...but I do want to get rid of those damn L-plates very soon...

I want to change my rear (and eventually the front) indicators soon, but feel a little threatened by the fact that I will invalidate my warranty if I do so...hmm...

Ive been looking everywhere for a ns125f manual any chance of a copy?(erm do you email it,post it,or do i download it?)
Also the paint job looks good wished mine turn out like that,ill post a pic of my bike when its done signal yellow and black looks good but for the orange peel(here i go with the wet and dry AGAIN!)and again id be grateful if you could sort me out with a manual.cheers mate Wink

No worries with the manual. I can bung it on a CD and post it to you. Just send me an e-mail with your address and I'll send it as soon as poss. I've almost finished the scanning but still have all the renaming to do. Crying or Very sad

So you're painting your own bike? Sod that for a game of soldiers. I'd much rather get someone else to do it than sand it all day. Still having got the plastics (kinda) sorted I'm gonna try and alloy polish some of the parts to a mirror finish. Will either go well and look amazing or not and look tat. Fingers crossed.

I'll keep my eyes peeled around Bristol for yer! Ever need anything, just yell. I'm local. A race maybe? I could being the GSXR! Wink

I'm sure you could probably change the indicators without losing the warranty. As long as you use the same holes and don't start cutting new holes, it's totally reversible. The flush mounted jobbies, like I'm fitting, just go through the hole and screw in from behind on their own thread.

I think they look heaps better than the stock jobbies but I know plenty of people who prefer stock ones.

Yeah, I'll keep an ear out for ya, I'll probably blink and miss you Razz

In terms of the indicators, the bloke from Motorcycle City said that even if a Honda dealer fitted the indicators, it would still invalidate the warranty...but that's a load of bollocks!...the service manual only mentions "damage resulting from...etc..."...so as long as I'm careful, it should be ok...

The Carnells people weren't too impressed with my enquiry about shop manuals either...they can sell me for about £100, but G advised me to ring around some smaller dealers for a better deal...do you know of any such places?...I haven't had time to look through the Yellow pages yet, but I will once my assignments have been handed in (tomorrow!!!)...

I'd better get back to my work...

I'll be sure to give you a shout when I get a little more confident on the bike,

I paid about £25 I think (but may have been £15, cannot remember, should still have the price penciled on it) at the Donnington classic bike show a month or so back

This weekend coming there is a classic bike show at Malvern (south of Worcester), which may be worth a look.

Not too bad, but looks like the colours have come out matt. How about laquering it (although apparently putting laquer over stickers can make them bubble up)?

Sorry, couldnt work out if the stickers were green or chrome, must look the nuts if there chrome!!!!!!(picture doesnt show them up that well). I think just some more honda chrome stickers would make it look better, but if the paintshop are offering to do the black ones agon, then you might as well let them. Ill show you pics of my RK with 'special' stickers when i finnaly get them throught the post. Its also got neon green sidelights, aghhh, turning into a gary boy!!!!! lol.

The one chills has was for the RK-RM (upto 93 I assume) if I remember, which is the same one I got for about £30 for a photocopy from Japan. I assume Tin's bike is a 2001 model so he would need the post-94 manual (I assume there is a difference) which they presumably still have in stock as actual manuals rather than photocopies. As it's still a 'current' model presumably they're a bit ahrder to get hold off... presumably bike shops either didn't get the new one because they allreaddy had the old one, or are keeping their copy of the new one.

(I might have completley misinterpreted the situation though)

Yeah, the green is just the grass reflecting in the chrome. The web site shows them better.
I'll get the black redone AND more chrome, I think.
Did you say "Neon Green"??? I guess I'd need to see it. Looking forward to the pix. Wink

No - you're spot on. I have the RK manual 89-92/93 and the older NSF manual 87ish(?).

You're welcome to a copy of those if their any help.

The black is meant to be matt. It's a kinda metallic but matt black. (You need to see it in real life, I think). It matches the wheels nicely and shows off the silver more.
The pictures really don't show the bike at it's best although the web site pix are better than the one above.
It HAS all been lacquered, already. The laquer is OK on the black stickers but if it goes on the chrome, it dulls the mirror finish.
Still, it's getting there and hopefully if the alloy polishing goes well it should look, well.... unique if nothing else!
