Windshield / Fly Shield?

Hi All,

After passing my mod 2 in November I have now managed to put a couple of hundred miles on my new Gladius. Really enjoying it at the moment but looking forward to having good run outs when the weather improves.

So on to my question:

Will a smallish / suitably styled Wind/Fly Shield make a difference to being buffeted by wind when riding between 60-75mph?

Have always rode naked bikes, this year on a particularly windy day on the A12 my mate offers me his puig flyscreen as he now has a faired bike.

Put in on my bandit and IMHO it makes a fair bit of difference. Noticed it mainly at motorway speeds, where I used to get buffeted in the chest area, that seems to have dissapeared

I can't speak to a fly screen on the Gladius, but I've bodged up 50cm screens on all 3 of my bikes so far and found that they reduce wind buffeting, noise and fatigue significantly.

They are brilliant in this kind of weather because they help to push the air around your body instead of directly into your chest

Most definately yes. The most noticable difference for me has been the lack of wind pushing my chest back at those sorts of speeds. It means I don't have to maintain a death grip on the handlebars so as not to be flung back. XD

I like the puig one becuase it looks like I could take it off in seconds where the powerbronze has a more permenent fixing. Also does anyone think the extra height of the powerbronze will make a lot of difference? It looks a little to high to me.

hi, i fitted one of the small puig ones to my 125 which i ride mainly on dual carriageway doing 65 to 70ish, it gets pretty windy along the coast road and i noticed the difference straight away.

no wind blast on the chest, can tuck behind it a bit when the weather is crap and it helps the bike cut through the turbulence at the front of lorries when over taking (it is only a 125 after all) lol

That's good to hear, I like the look of the small puig one, the powerbronze may protect against wind a little better but doesn't look that great.

The small Puig looks like you could take it off in seconds as well?

this is the one i have, it just clamps on with the headlight bolts, i didnt think it would be very secure but its not budged a bit since fitting it, it would come off in 2 minutes too.
