I was overheard a fella i work with (A total know it all, who usually spouts utter crap)
Anyway he was telling a young lad who is saving for his first bike that to go for your Direct Access licence you have to hold a full uk car driving licence.

I've looked on the DSA website & cannot find any mention of this,

Is he yet again talking utter Bull babber ?

If he is i will take great pleasure in telling him that he is wrong, he's a reet annoying bloke who hates everything people like, he will openly tell people that their new car is crap, all motocycle riders are dangerous & all people who are not him are idiots.....grrrr this guy really gets on my nervs Mad

Not true. You need to hold provisional car licence with the provisional bike licence as a minimum.

As always "Really, I didn't know that! Those idiots at the DVLA are denying it, can you just cite the statute so that I can correct them? The statute. You know, the law that you're quoting. Uh huh. I see."

Or if you're in a hurry, just laugh at him, you can't fix a nobber, you can just use him for entertainment.

Cheers guys
i usually laugh at him but the lad in question who he told that to has really bad dyslexia & was really worried that he would have to pay for the full car licence as well. the know it all is a total knob end !!!

He's one of them guys who says that all motorbike riders are dangerous & riding one is a selfish act because they are risking their lives for a little bit of dangerous fun. as i say i mostly laugh at him but this time i'm gonna pull him up on this one......with great pleasure

Didnt you know? New legislation that came in 75 years ago states that you must have a full car license, be an astronaut and able to ride a bike while sitting on the seat backwards using special mirrors attached to the helmet to view the road ahead. Oh and you must do this all while operating a tablet computer playing drag racer.

No. Hang on thats not right.

You need a provisional license.

Tell your friend he's talking from his arse.

That'll be his mate who's a driving-examiner-doctor-lawyer-builder-sparky-plumber, and he used to be in the SAS but he can't talk about it, right? Very Happy
