I picked this up today to replace my wrecked Buell...

Its quite mental really. The screen looks a bit... Marmite but it allows faster cruising speeds on the motorway than the Buell. The engine has loads of character, and yet is immensely flexible, and pulls from near idle to the redline, no matter what gear or speed. The Buell was good at this but would often chug a bit at low revs and would hit a brick wall at high revs. The Street is deceptively fast, but being a naked its not so quick as to get you into trouble. The handling is sure-footed, but for me the forks need a little bit less preload. Despite this, the quality of the suspension shines through and you can feel the effort that Triumph has gone to.

Its also feather light, very comfortable and rather pretty. I'm not sold on the colour, but it was either that, burnt orange or white which I didn't want. The brakes could do with a little bit more bite, but maybe some EBC pads would improve it. I suspect Triumph have been a little conservative with the pads because its a naked bike.

The engine sounds like its almost dying at idle, but sounds fantastic at high revs. Typical Hinkley Triumph.

Overall I'm pretty happy, although what with my wrist still being weak and the weather closing in I don't think I'll be doing loads of riding over the winter, but I'm looking forward to having the titanium removed from my wrist so I can comfortably push bikes around again. I'm also looking forward to the summer weather when I can see what the handling of the bike is really about.

Smile

Nice, if I was in the market for a quick road bike I think I'd go for one of these.

I like the screen more than those little hat things above the headlights which can look too small aesthetically.

Although the mention of titanium wrist mods, does temper my enthusiasm for motorbikes with a bit of forboding, but of course it will never happen to me.

Lovely bike, glad you decided to get back on a bike as Isaw after your crash you were thinking of giving it up.

I am dead set on a striple next after sitting on one with flat bars, felt perfect for me. Oh and yes you are missing some arrow pipes Thumbs Up

It's also a timely return to "But it's British!" being appropriate once again and as triumphs have come on a lot over the years, they are no longer just the preserve of bargain hunters or those who want to be different.

Great choice of bike there. Of course I'm a little bit biased.
Sounds good with the standard cans, but get Arrows on there and it's just rather delicious especially with out the baffles.

I've got the base flyscreen bit on mine & been humming and hawing about getting the additional one you have? Whats it like a 100+ mph cause thats basically my top speed before I feel like a sail. Laughing

I've got LeoVince cans on mine and they sound awesome Thumbs Up

Nice choice of bike. I'm not sure about the matt paintwork which is why I went for the gloss orange but I love that colour.

Good choice sir.

I had a long test ride on one shortly after they came out. It was a cracking bike. The only downside was the wind blast when pushing it. I'd become a bit too accustomed to fully faired sports bikes. That screen, even though looking a bit naff, would have certainly had my wallet twitching if it'd been fitted to the test ride bike.
