What silly or stupid things have you done on/to/with your bike? I'm not talking about crashing or anything, just those little daft things.
I'll start:
Today I was so excited about applying for a very decent job, that I filled my bike up with 2stroke, using the key to lever the top of the bottle off, put the key in my underseat storage space along with the bottle lid, filled my oil tank up, put the lid on the tank and the bottle, and put the seat back on the bike . *oops*
I had to wait 10 minutes for my dad to come down in his car with my spare keys . ____________________ https://www.bikepics.com/members/nsrandy/96rs250/ My Bike!

Pulled up diagonally to the kerb on a road with a heavy camber, went to kick the sidestand down only to realise that my shoelace from my trainer had wrapped around the gear lever. Trying to hold up an XJ900F on your ankle isn't nice.

Quite a common one, leaving the disc lock on when doing a quick getaway...and then quickly falling onto the floor. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Hmm... I guess my moment would have to be, pulling a fat wheelie comming out of St Doms (my college) on my old NRG, which just happens to be at an incline and then having some 18 year old run out for a laugh, causing me to drop my bike on its side and sustaining a few bruises on my left flank. Unfortunately it was on a friday at 4 o'clock in view of all the ladies and also in view of the people i invited to my birthday party the following day . I can swear my bike was in pristine condition beforehand!
Today, because of the rain, the bike wouldn't start (my XR), either it was a flooded carb ( i turned the fuel off) or the electrics got wet... In view of the 1st year girls and very embarrassing as i couldn't rev/warm up my engine. ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

Went to put my key down on my fuel Cap(on scooter) and dropped it into the fareing, waited for my dad, who got it out straight away( was only 15mins from home!)
Another time, again with scooter i thought i had found a place to hide my key(coz it was such a huge weight to bear! ) This then got lost inside the fareing!
On my first geared bike, My dad revved his R1 up, taking the mickey out of my measly 125, i then revved my engine and dumped the clutch!(i then managed to catch the bike mid flight, and stop it from hitting a car!) Oh and this was 2miles outside of where i had bought my bike 15minutes previous!
Forgot to put the sidestand down at a petrol Station, and so managed to save the bike! |

Mine was trying to impress my friends in a car park when I was 17 on my ER-5, I was leaning the bike so much the front tyre slid on some wet cardboard and I lost the bike and it slid away from me, bending the handlebars and snapping the indicator and brake lever. |

The stupidest thing I've done is relying on the neutral light,It wasn't on my bike but on a Kymco Stryker traily type thing that was lent to me when I was having probs with my 1st bike,I took the bloody thing off the stand and flicked the starter button to let my mate hear it running when the frigging thing lurched forward with me holding onto the handlebars desperately trying to stop the bastard...It did stop after it fell on me,which was quite painful...I don't think I'll try being a bike stand again...it hurts
And the moral of this story is...NEVER trust the bloody neutral light! |

Yeah but the funniest was going to a pub about 5 miles from where I live with me on the NSR and my mate on his RS125. Adament his bike was faster we had a race home, he was right, he was quicker, until he pulled up at the side of the road not realising I had turned his petrol off. £10, cheers easy ____________________ A big enough hammer fixes anything! |
