Guys and Gals,
I'm wanting to change my insurance policy from 3PF&T to fully comp, but my insurance company wont upgrade it, or even cancel and start a new policy, as they say I may wait a day and then claim on the new insurance. I can understand that this may be the case for dodgy claims, but i'm legit but they wont do it.
Therefore I will have to look around for a new company and take out insurance (Fully Comp) with them, and cancel the current one.
However I am with Bikesure through Adrian Flux (who say they broker for over 30 insurance companies) so therefore may still refuse if I try and take out a new policy through someone else, if it ends up with them.
Do you have any ideas as to who I can insurance my bike with, who are good, but also cheap. I want to have breakdown and courtesy bike inc on policy.
Thanks all.
Me

Are you really sure that you want to do this?
You'll likely get sod all back from the current policy, and you'll be throwing away your partial NCD.
Yo can get AutoAid breakdown insurance for £38, and that's any-vehicle and explicitly includes recovery after an accident, which some other breakdown excludes.
I'm not aware of any insurers that offer a courtesy bike as part of comprehensive cover (where there's no third party to claim from), you'll want to read the T&Cs on that very carefully, not just the headlines.
Have you changed bike? Why the sudden urge to get FC cover? ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Only thought about FC cover, cos if I make a booboo and come off for any reason, then at least I can get bike fixed and continue commuting to work.
Not changed bike, but thought that its probably better to have FC. I think after all the agro about trying to change mid year (and as you say kissing GB to my partial NCB).
I'll just wait till August and get it changed then perhaps. Bikesure did say that I can get Full Breakdown cover for £49.00 a year, and also the bike replacement if mine is unrideable, so perhaps I'll just grin and bear it.
Thanks for advice though. Sometimes, just need someone else to point out me being a pillock for me to stop and think...... ____________________ Previous Bikes: TZR125, KMX125, RGV250, RD350YPVS, GXSR750H, GSXR600SRAD, R1 (2000), GSXR1000 (K1), ZZR600, CBR1100XX Super Blackbird

Compare the likely repair costs against the extra premium, loss of NCD, the excess, plus the pumping you'll take over the next 3 - 5 years if you make a claim. You'd have to smash the bike up big time before it's worth claiming.
I would urge you to read the T&Cs of any breakdown or replacement cover that you're thinking about taking, because they love their exclusions. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
