I booked my theory test yesterday, I had two choices, 4th January 1.30pm or 26th January which is clearly too late for the imminent changes!
Thought I'd throw that into the pot
Not related but I got my copy of 'The Police riders handbook to better riding', looks to be really good value for money, gotta wrap it up though so the kids can give it to me for Christmas ____________________ Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruitsalad!

It's another sensible change by Mike "my man crush" Penning.
There will be new questions[1] and they won't be published.[2]
It's not really a big deal, if you're the kind of Rainman who can memorise all the questions verbatim but still have no idea what the answers mean, then you shouldn't be passing anyway. If you've got half the sense that you were born with, then it won't be a problem.
Hopefully they'll take the opportunity to remove the "What are the environmental benefits of this vehicle?" <Tram Sign> question.
[1] So they say.
[2] But expect every training school in the country to have them within the week anyway. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Was going to do my car theory before they brought the new theory out just for simplicity (the whole done it before, do it again philosophy).
But decided I just don't give enough of a shit about getting through the car test to be concerned in any major way (meaning not really something I need in the immediate future to rush and get it all done first time, like I did with the bike) plus I'm sure as Rog says the questions will start popping up in test centres when instructors get a cheeky sampling sampling plus the first few to do it will soon post the new Qs up on the web I expect ____________________ Current: 02 FZS 1000 & 91 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Some Bike Pics...

I've got absolutely no evidence for this, but I think the HPT part may well be getting better/easier soon.
On both of my theory tests (car+bike) I noticed how shoddy the clip quality was, and actually noticed that some of the clips were very dated.
However after my test, more specifically on the car one as that was my most recent, I opted to sit for some more optional questions and HPT clips so that they could collect feedback for possible changes to the system. I kind of figured, why not, this test does need to improve
In one of my HPT clips for the "possible changes" it was completely animated, and notably empty. There were only two noticeable hazards in the clips; a man walking his dog on the footpath and a car approaching the junction. The only real scenery was, well, there wasn't really anything substantial. You had an excellent view of the car and just knew by the fact that there was nothing else in the clip that could possibly be the hazard, that it was the hazard. And it was, it overshot the give way lines.
If anything like the animated clip that I saw comes in to play then I can't see anyone failing the HPT anymore ____________________ 2004 R1 & 2018 XSR900 |
