Taking one out for a test ride on Saturday... I asked if I could take it out for an hour, and they told me, take it for the afternoon if you like.
Cant wait.... They look awesome.
Anyone got one, and are they as good as they look ? ____________________ Previous Bikes: TZR125, KMX125, RGV250, RD350YPVS, GXSR750H, GSXR600SRAD, R1 (2000), GSXR1000 (K1), ZZR600, CBR1100XX Super Blackbird

Jealous! When my bloody restriction is up the dealers won't be able to get rid of me. Not that I have the cash to buy a new bike...but they don't know that
And yes. Triumph are notorious for their twisted subframes when new. ____________________ Riding: BMW R1150RT `02 bought mildly crashed

The dealers also have the Kawasaki Z750 and Z1000. Seem similar type of retro feal, so may see if I can test that as well. ____________________ Previous Bikes: TZR125, KMX125, RGV250, RD350YPVS, GXSR750H, GSXR600SRAD, R1 (2000), GSXR1000 (K1), ZZR600, CBR1100XX Super Blackbird

No real comparison, but took the Tiger 1050 out, love the triple engine, sounds and goes fantastic.
Sat on it though, very comfortable for me... used to the odd positions of sports bikes, but this was a nice relaxed feel.
Go careful though, £1000 excess on their bikes and this weekend looks fun to say the least |

Dont know what the price is yet, just going to ride it, whilst my bike in in having stuff done on it. If it rides nice, I may get one towards the end of next year, when prices come down, or perhaps get last of 2012 models before the 2013 come out.
I think they are about 8-8.5k ____________________ Previous Bikes: TZR125, KMX125, RGV250, RD350YPVS, GXSR750H, GSXR600SRAD, R1 (2000), GSXR1000 (K1), ZZR600, CBR1100XX Super Blackbird

I test rode both back to back plus the Tiger when I was selling my busa.
I enjoyed (wanted) all three
I went for the street triple because I wanted a really fun light weight bike after the busa and a lot of other heavyweight machines.
The speed was well planted and a nice bike & I love the single side swingarm but it certainly wasn't as much 'fun' as the street triple R I tested.
Another point then was that this was the standard speed (no R version) but with the diamond headlights while the street was the last of the round headlights with a full bodywork kit thrown in and over £1000 cheaper so I bought the street R and I do love it!
I have only regretted it when I have gone touring. It's a bitch to strap stuff too without shagging the paintwork. I think I'll have to invest in Ventura luggage (has anyone tried this stuff, is it as good as it looks and costs ) or buy an old tiger with panniers. ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

Test ride was awesome. Took out the street triple R in the end. What a bike. Close ratio gearbox was a dream.
Brakes are so sharp....
7495.00 for stree triple R
6895.00 for the street triple
I already told missus I'd like to get one next year sometime, when the weather gets better.
May need to get fly screen for the motorway part of my commute, but loved the bike. so responsive. ____________________ Previous Bikes: TZR125, KMX125, RGV250, RD350YPVS, GXSR750H, GSXR600SRAD, R1 (2000), GSXR1000 (K1), ZZR600, CBR1100XX Super Blackbird

The one I took out was in silver matt finish and the R version. Its done 4500 miles and on a GL60 plate, and they want £5400 for it.
so tempted, but I will keep the ZZR600 through this crappy weather, and perhaps may get finance on the triumph next year sometime and perhaps keep the zzr for crappy day commuting.

They are seriously tasty bikes, it's hardly surprising that they're selling like mad...even if they did ruin the head lights I really need to test ride one after my restriction is up. Although I need to be thinking about replacing the car I share with my gf. The little 1.2 '00 100k Corsa just wasn't made for the motorway miles I do in it...
On an even more off topic note of curiosity; how did you go from owning some very quick sport bikes, including an R1, to a ZZR600? ____________________ Riding: BMW R1150RT `02 bought mildly crashed

the r1 I had was back in 2000
I then got a GSXR1000 after that, but then had a break from bikes, as girlfriend and job change, so didnt really have place to store a bike.
However new job in london, and wanted something to use as a workhorse to get me into work and back each day. I looked at a ZX9R, but after riding it, thought it wouldn't be as comfortable trying to filter and through London, so dealer recommended the zzr.
Love it actually, was really surprised at how comfy it is, and also at how fast she actually is. Just thought while mine was in having steering looked at, I could take the opportunity to test ride something rather than sit around in dealers showroom. Now its got me thinking about getting an upgrade, or addition to the family.
I do like the super sports, but not really for commuting, and therefore looking at the triumph. ( not had a street fighter type bike before)
Plus I have a 18 month old now, so money isnt stockpiled as high in the spare room anymore. although I wouldnt change anything, as a smile from little man, washes every once of stress from me in seconds. ____________________ Previous Bikes: TZR125, KMX125, RGV250, RD350YPVS, GXSR750H, GSXR600SRAD, R1 (2000), GSXR1000 (K1), ZZR600, CBR1100XX Super Blackbird
