Want this but was told you need pure sinewave for charging laptops etc ?

you really didnt think that through did you??
what voltage type do lap tops normally use to run??
what do you think that laptop power adapter is trying to create?


the fact is nearly every appliance is dc, (bar most things that have a motor, eg vacuums blenders etc) the only reason that ac is used is because transmission of dc is only about 2 miles, where ac can be transmitted hundreds with very little volt drop,
tesla won that little battle with edison

Yep, as well as the safety aspect of getting shocked with AC vs DC - at least you can let go with AC! Thumbs Up

The answer is you'll be fine with an inverter.

Pure sinewave inverters cost 150 quid, this is a lot less to charge netbook ?

Can't think why you'd need pure sinewave. I've charged my lappy from all manner of supplies, inverter (non-sinewave) in the van, mains, even one of those rattly old 5kva diesel generator on 110v. Still going strong today.
