So I park up behind my house as usual (part gravel/concrete) around the back. Put it on its side stand, then straighten the handlebar to and push down on the centre stand, I get my weight over it and the back end starts rising, then crack... and in slow motion the bike falls over away from me.

Once I get it back up, I look at the centre stand, still in one piece, and I see on the floor next to it a rectangular hole where the centre stand leg punched through the concrete - gutted.

Luckily no real damage, just scuffs to the fairing, c'est la vie.

Haha, I've heard of bikes falling over parked on tarmac in boiling hot weather, but not bike stands going straight through concrete!

Are you sure it's not a tank? That's some going for a bike to punch through concrete unless Chuck Norris is the former owner...

Nah, Chuck wasn't involved, the world's thinnest concrete hardstanding was the culprit methinks...

Went down to the Newark Autojumble a few summers ago, nice hot day. Called into a pub on the way home for a cool beer and sandwhich, parked up by the side of a railway line. Turned out it was the East Coast mainline. One of Brandsons 100+ mph trains shot through and blew my 'Blade, Migs Triumph RS and Bob's Fazer 1000 clean off their sidestands. Nothing to do with the OP's post, just bored.
