Looking to get another bike in Jan/Feb and these are the two I'm looking at. 04+ Hornet (06 if I can) and SV1000. I know they are kind of different but good to know what others think Thumbs Up

If you sold the ZX6r because it was too revvy then another 600 IL4 probably wont float your boat. Haven't tried the SV1000 but also consider the VTR1000F, same sort of ilk but cheaper and not a suzuki.

Another vote for the SV1000. I came form a Bandit 600. Does drink fuel but the sound is fantastic at speed Cool . You may want to try one first as they do ride differently to an IL4.

I've had 2 V twins already so I should be fine in that sense. Anything I should look for in particular with the SV's?

I'd buy the SV so i could use the torque to pull my dead apple tree out the ground.

I advise you to buy it too.

Nothing really to worry about with them. The rear exhaust gasket can fail (mine has) and you will know it has as it will blow slightly. About £9 to replace but does mean whole exhaust system off.
Its a hydraulic clutch so make sure its not loosing fluid. Nothing else on off the top of my head. Cool

Plenty of info on https://www.suzukisv1000.com/

It depends i personally think there is less feel than a cable one Biting points etc. Coming from a cable clutch.

Overall a fantastic bike, in my opinion anyway. And not to bad on insurance.

I have 1NCB and no claims/convictions but I still get crappy quotes. SV1000 is the cheapest I've been quoted ever! on any bike! £40 a month Shocked

Reading reviews on the TLR and SV, the SV seems more what I'm looking for Laughing

Wouldn't mind an SV thou myself for a litre bike (not normally interested in much over 800cc) I remember looking at quotes last month and could get TPFT for £830 at 19 with 2 years NCB.

From what I've heard the SV is more revvier than a TL but not as much as an IL4, for normal road riding they apparently can overtake in near enough any gear.
