I'm in the process of looking for a new lid; there are so many makes out there. What make is your main helmet?

You need an "Other" catagory Wink

I have an Xpeed XR1 Helmet, basically a Shoei without the name Very Happy.

I got an AGV K2 from Heine Gericke for £109. Which I think is about the going rate.

you should wear ear plugs whatever lid you wear

without a doubt Arai and Shoei are the best (and most expensive) but they are very different shapes

Arai are for short and fat heads

Shoei for long and thin

you need to try them really and decide if you really "need" all the extra features that these makes give you for the price, many cheaper lids are just as safe

for me, the quick release visor system on the Shoei (and the fact that I have a Shoei head) makes it a no brainer Very Happy

well if the lid fits Wink

I always found Arai put massive pressure on my forehead where Shoei doesn't

hence short fat Arai head or long thin Shoei head Very Happy

I have two, a 'light' and a 'dark' lid....

An Arai Quantum F Haga Rep for during daytime and a Shoei XR8 Scott Russell rep for night time (clear visor)

The reason for this is that I bought the Quantum F because it was a 'bargain' Embarassed while my Shoei was still servicable, but my other half needed a dark visor for her new XR9.

I quickly discovered that the Arai visor change system leaves a lot to be desired (especially compared to the Shoei) and I dislike having to flex my £70 iridium visor, and jiggle it to get it to fit!

Shark RSR, brilliant lid. Really easy quick release visor, good vents that work well, very light, and pretty quiet too. Thumbs Up

Arai all the way for me Thumbs Up
Never found a lid that fits any way as snug as them and they just have a quality feel to them if you know what i mean Cool
As for the visor change on them i've never found it a problem they just snap straight out and straight back in.
