Why do you want a non-UK model, super-sport 400-'four', that's probably fifteen twenty years old?

They made sense fifteen-twenty years ago, when new bike prices were over inflated by strength of the yen, new bike sales were low, and prices of 600's new or used was exhorbitant; and supply & demand made them a 'useful' alternative, if you could live with the 'niggles' that come with such an 'exotic' that doesn't have decent dealer support.

These days, with so many newer, better, cheaper, 600's on the market; the 400's dont really offer that much, apart from rarity, and the hassle it brings.

30" seat height, would, in such a bike NOT really be a deciding factor for me!

I'm 6'2" with 34" inside leg; and ridden VFR400's track and road... cramped, yes, but its a race rep, they are all like that! Comes with the territory.

If I was looking to buy a bike like that now; it would be a museum piece. Something to polish, look at in the garage, and maybe take out on a Sunny Sunday to a ride-out; where such practicalities really wouldn't be a big deal.

I wouldn't buy one as a practical every day road bike; pool of whats out there is poor; having suffered probably twenty years in the hands of low rent boy racers, thrashing them, and skimping on maintenence. Does not bode well for reliability. And when stuff breaks; non UK model, hassle and delay getting bits you need to fix and maintain them.

When you can get a similar age CBR600, in better shape, you can get bits for 'next day' from Dave Silvers, for less money, that has more performance, promices better reliability and less hassle?

I'm all for motorcycling masocism & perversity... I try and renovate 125 Super-Dreams for fuggsake! But, highlighting the seat height on a CBR400, as a 'worry'.... is rather, err.... strange!

I agree with Mike, the normal CBR 600's are a better choice unless you particularly want a scaled-down version.
