I'd have to nominate Tesco's.

Good customer service, chatty staff and relaxed debt recovery dept.
Buying their cheap insurance on clubcard discount also got a few thousand clubcard award points. Thumbs Up

Can't give proof of claims procedure though, wasn't daft enough to go through it. Wink

Listed based on common dealings of consumer, not individual complaint, this means how they are listed gives an indication from a broad range of people how good their standards are as a provider, no comments on specific cases in this post but feel free to add your dealing in a reply below to reflect how you like the service from them and advise others. - better is 1st.

1) H&R
2) Carole Nash
3) CIA
4) Adrian Flux
5) Express
6) Tesco

Carol naish have been very good so far.

Cheap price, multi bikes for minimal cost, full european breakdown cover.

The only let down was trying to get the docs sent that stated the cover I'd paid for (courier)

Express insurance cheap and the girls there seem to do as much as they can help you like clearing past dept so you can get a new cheaper quote.

Carole Nash are top. They do charge for changes to the policy but were excellent when it came to my insurance claim. Can't fault them apart from being a bit expensive for young riders.

cant fault adrian flux at the moment, they were cheap on declared mods on the old rat, put me in contact with solicitors and hire bike company after the crash and changed the insurance to the new bike including keeping my no claims running as the accident wasn't my fault, didn't charge for the vehicle change either.

along the same lines, I also recommend BLD group for vehicle hire after an accident and Bott+co solicitors, duno if adrian flux always use these guys, but they have been helpful all the way and explained anything I was confused by.

Cheers
John

Never heard a bad word about Carole Nash.

I've only claimed with two insurers (Ebike and Bennets) and i'm always 3rd TPFT so the insurers/brokers don't actually handle the claim, its either BLD or Help-hire/Angel Assistance/New Law Solicitors.

All have been great.

With Rampdale at the moment; they're my first insurer and I've not had to claim off them however.

After passing my Mod2 I phoned them up to tell them I'm now on a full license, they didn't charge a penny for the change and gave me my pillion cover for free too Thumbs Up

I did however phone on the mobile rather than the landline, and ended up with an extra quid or two on my phone bill Laughing

Is it that insurers are only rubbish if you are fully comprehensive? As if 3rd party or TPFT your claims are always handled by another company.

Big thumbs up from CIA insurance from me, hassle free, friendly staff and good prices. They did hound me like mad when it was up for renewal though Laughing

Tesco and the co-op are good, only used them for car insurance though. As for bike insurers I don't really know, I've never had to put a claim in and do everything online, so whoever is cheapest will usually get my money. I'm with 'Express Insurance' at the minute and just had to email them photocopies of my license (didn't question my 33bhp restriction) and no claims.

Ebike for the last 5-6 years, I've never had a problem despite changing bikes on a very regular basis.

I've never had to make a claim, but in every other aspect, I've found both Carole Nash and Adrian Flux to be excellent.
Carole Nash's multibike policy was very cheap for me, and Adrian Flux were very helpful over the phone, with both the Bandit and the Chinese bike, which surprised me a bit, I must admit.

Perversely enough, having a TPFT multibike policy worked out costing the same (to within a pound) as FC did on the SV650 when I first got it.

Another for CIA Thumbs Up Friendly and competent staff and fairly cheap for a new rider (premiums shot up though above 125cc for me so had to use MCE for the Bandit and MZ)

+1. I've had one non-fault claim, all handled quickly and efficiently. The breakdown insurance has been handy too Embarassed

H&R are spot on, very helpful, great service, try to help you get the best price but I find their prices not quite competitive, I think when it comes to renewal though I'd probably pay a little extra to go with H&R again.

+1 on this, Bikesure (Adrian Flux) + BLD were great with helping out when I was reversed into by a police car in Sept 2010!
..and yes, they pretty much point you at BLD for stuff.

Carole Nash have been good for me too on price (after price matching - which is more like price beating than matching that is) and service. Multibike TPO.
They even let me stay on the (much) cheaper scheme the following year after the terms and conditions for new customers had changed so that i was technically no longer eligible (too young) Thumbs Up

They're also excellent with large amounts of non-performance-enhancing mods.
