I can't prove it 100% but I'm pretty sure that they didn't. There are a lot of cheap Chinese aftermarket fairings including Repsol and Moviestar.

BTW the FX is a 1999 bike, the 2000 model was the FY.

Nope it came in 5 official UK schemes i believe, more likely to be aftermarket fairings or at least resprayed. Easiest thing is to look at the fit of the panels and the thickness. Also if they go down the bracket that holds the screen and nose cone tend to bend easily near the mirrors. Sitting on it you can tell if its been down hard as the screen won't be straight.

Also won't be down in the documents, it normally just notes one colour, mine was silver and black but was down as just black.

There should be a white rectangular sticker in the tray under the pillion half of the seat that has a code starting with NH-something or another (can't quite remember). If you look that up on the inter webs it should correspond to which colour scheme it actually should be.

Have a look at the V5. If it says date of first registration xx/xx/1999 then it's a FX. It will also show the main colour but this can easily be changed.

Gmanxiii, cheers dude, you just made me feel even worse about selling my black and yellow FY. The best colour scheme by far.
