When the rain finally runs down the back of my arse , and capilliary action takes it right round to the back of my balls. Then I know I can't get any wetter and can relax, stop attempting to hide behind my fairing and enjoy the ride.

Probably clutching the bike while going past a bunch of girls and revving the tits out of the engine.

With a loud pipe it gets you a few screams. Always a laugh. Laughing Laughing

If you really want to make a girl scream, do her up the gary.

Then wipe yourself clean on the curtains.

Oh, all right then, bike chat. It's all good, road conditions allowing. I reckon that I might give myself a little Newtonass eve treat tomorrow and go for a troll ride through the panic shoppers, just filter to the shops, turn around and repeat until I cause a rage-crash. Very Happy

Opening the garage and seeing her, waiting for me.

Backing her out, locking up and starting to get lid and rucksack on. Then, just before gloves, firing her up, feathering the throttle and choke until it's running sweet. By the time the gloves are on, she's warm and ready.

That lovely "clunk" as it drops into first.

First to second along our street, just to wake the neighbours.

Hitting the countryside on the way to work on A-roads.

The last couple of miles of very fast B-road before work. Gives me kind of an idea of what TT riders feel like, and the right/left/right to start it is sublime. As is the buzz of the jump over the humpback bridge over the canal. I used to do it at 20. I can do it at 45 now. And the long left that I used to do at 45 I can now do at 80. Bliss.

Getting there safe.

Doing it all the other way round on the way home, including the knee down chicane that I don't have on the way there.

Getting home safe, and happy. Far happier than if I've commuted in the car.

And this is every time. Unless traffic gets in my way at the chicane on my way home. That makes me miserable for about 30 seconds. Then there's a fast left into the next village and I'm smiling under the lid again!

Getting off the bike at the end of the ride and listening to the bike tick while it cools down. I get a sense of satisfaction from that for some reason Laughing

Deciding which Arai Helmet to wear and deciding which alpinestars jacket/suit/gloves to choose. Everything else is monotonous!

I like confusing my workmates by my variety of riding garment combos!

Other than that, making a LOT of noise leaving work when there's a tailback to the roundabout! Nothing rubs it into the cagers better than a bike filtering as slowly as possible whilst blipping through a remus race can! Better still if there's 2 or 3 bikes leaving at the same time - heaven forbid the greebo davidson! THAT + any IL4 with a race can in unison sounds orchesteral.
