Carol Singers

Hey,
Just had my first load of beggers... i mean carol singers. I simply shut the door on them. They stood in my garden for 5 minutes till i told them to sod off.

We get loads of charity collectors round here some of whom get shirty when you tell them were to go. Why they come round here when the majority of people round here are skint i have no idea.

Whats your general reaction to people like this?

If it is for a genuine charity, I'll bung em a a few quid and listen to their song. No harm, takes 5 minutes out of my evening and gives a bit to charity.

I have had kids come round, sing one verse and then hold their hand out. They get

If folk are taking time to go around spreading some cheer then I would contribute to their charity.

It is human.

And it is Christmas Time.

No need to rely on Christian faith for celebration you could look at the original Pagan festival or even the simple fact that our longest night is over and it will soon be easier to get out on the bike all day.

Hey,
I just hate people knocking on my door asking for something. If i'm going to give to charity i'll do it in my own time. Same goes for anyone trying to sell me anything.

The community I live in is mainly Pakistani or Pashtun with some Bengali Chinese and Yemeni Arabs a dash of Chinese and a sprinkle of Somalians and Algerians. We do not suffer from carol singers.

Only had carol singers one year and they got annoying so just slammed the door in the faces.

IT would be better if they actually knew a whole song when they came to the door it was just

We've just had 3 chav hoodies round singing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" - I asked him if they knew any other carols, and he started singing George Michael's "Last Christmas" - it was worth a quid to see 3 hoodies singing that
