Not really, I guess there is plenty that is out of your control, IE idiots on the road.
I take it you've had tuition? IE Your aware of all the required observations when doing various things like turning?

I would just like to thank you for your post Ste mentions above. I had 3 days training for my DAS test which was last Wednesday. I read your post a few times the night before and passed with only 4 minor marks.

Also try applying the back brake slightly before the front and then progressively more front.
The weight of the bike travels forward onto the forks under braking making the backend go light, this can make it easier to lock the rear wheel. Applying the back brake slightly before the front helps keep some more of the weight over the back wheel.
Most modern bikes have very good front brakes, these combined with modern tyres will provide more than enough stopping power for most situations.
I personally only use the back for stability when cornering/slow control/ times when I only need to scrub off a small amount of speed, etc.
Good luck with the next test. Remember if you do lock it up, release and reapply.  |
