Loving my new Drift HD170 that the wife got me for xmas Smile

For those of you that have a standard definition GoPro or equivalent or want to go HD but can't justify £300 Get one here - https://amzn.to/tIbSYX for £124.99 Great camera for the price. I made a video comparing it with a Standard GoPro. Youtube doesn't do the difference justice but you can see the difference.

Cool. How are you finding it? Have you used it in the wet at all?

Love it, the velcro mount isn't perfect but seems to do the job well. Got a few videos on my YouTube channel but nout special, just a test really. I got a suction mount off ebay for a couple of quid and it works really well in the car, I've yet to try it out on the bike though, should be fine.

Haven't tried it in the wet but it's meant to be decently water proof as standard.

That GoPro is nicely priced indeed. When I was after a helmet cam the GoPro was much more expensive so wasn't even going to consider it. I'd say the quaility is better than the Drift but it lacks the features and the LCD of course. Proper film crews love the GoPro though, you see it all over, Top Gear, David Attenborogh documentaries etc.

I believe the comparison is two £150 cameras not SD vs HD

OK, the Motorsport Gopro set is now £150, the Drift is £125.

My wonderful Wife (cheers Maggie) just ordered me the Drift as a late Xmas pressie, Why?

Well, that's the one I asked for because the footage is on par or so with the Gopro.
You can get an external mike (major for me) with the Drift and it's still slightly cheaper. Screen also helps as well and tbh (imfo only though) at the price it's so much better than a Gopro.

The big thing is, it's more discreet than having a Gopro stuck on your head Laughing

Sound is important for me and the external Mike is a major plus point, the Gopro can do it but you have got to Mod the 'F' outta it to get that feature.

Looking forwards to my Drift, hurry up Amazon. Wink

Can't make them too fun thougheh. You get into trouble for having fun.

I'm not sure I like the setting I have used in Sony Vegas. Its made it too letterboxy. I'll try again with a different setting.

That's not to letterboxy mate, it's OK.

Looked like a good rideout as well Thumbs Up

Saying that, I think 16:9 default is fine but if you wanna go all arty that's good to Very Happy

In the original video in the 1st post, the 1st half of the footage is a SD GoPro.

Heh, well I now have my Mic and stuff so I did a walk around on my Divvy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9exTiecddA&context=C36da6b5ADOEgsToPDskLmhhTZIK37dk_ckPeVM7JW

SO EMBARRASSING Laughing

This is the shit I like though, just talking bollocks on Youtube and stuff.

I'm going to do some Food reviews on the 'local' Biker stops in the SE area.
Rykas will get a pasting from me if their burgers are anything to go by, the one I had was disgusting!

Drift HD170 seems to be a VERY good camera and with the Mic great sound as well.

Please don't judge me Wink
