Just a rant really, I was given a pair of Sartso Killers for Christmas.

Marjorly awsome etc until I found out that womens Sartso Jeans do not have pockets to put armour in! I think this is completly not on. When you research Sartso's they make a big point of mentioning that they have this feature which makes them stand out from the rest. But they fail to mention that they dont give a shit about their lady customers.

Wankers! Middle Finger

So now I have to exchange them for a pair of ill fitting mens Sartos.

And the mens version are the same price as the womens, which is not cheap at £130.

Rant over.

Send them a complaint message then asking why they don't have pockets in the jeans, If you have the advertisement that shows that the jeans for women are supposed to have Armour in then bring them up on it; generally false advertisement if that is the case.

Oh and post on BCF for the lulz Laughing

I might well do that.

This is from the home page of: https://www.sartso.com/index.php

Sartso Kevlar® Jeans

Sartso Kevlar® Jeans are a new age range of Kevlar® jeans designed with the fashion conscious rider in mind.
Sartso have constructed a new age Kevlar® jean using a woven Kevlar® that has been specifically designed to protect riders from abrasion injuries with its exceptional burst strength.

Sartso Kevlar® has undergone stringent testing to make sure that they with stand the different elements of a motorcycle accident.

The design team at Sartso have designed their jeans in conjunction with a broad range of riders, freestyle stunters, sports bike and cruisers.

Our Kevlar® jeans have incorporated armour pockets in the knee along with the Sartso Kevlar® (Safety Capsule) to offer their customers peace of mind when they are riding in our jeans.

Now to me that means all sartsos not just mens?

I have just noticed that in fairness to them. However the homepage which says 'Our Kevlar® jeans have incorporated armour pockets in the knee along with the Sartso Kevlar® (Safety Capsule) to offer their customers peace of mind when they are riding in our jeans.' does not have small print excluding certain lines.

I got these ones https://www.sartso.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=129&Itemid=151

Even on the product page it does not exclude the pockets for the armour Confused

Looking at that they should still have the under knee armour pockets just not the slim pockets fitted for knee armour. That is how I see it anyway.

Above that image using this link https://www.sartso.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=129&Itemid=151 it says
'All SARTSO jeans are fully equipped with our special grade lightweight Kevlar® specially designed to withstand abrasion.'

To me that image just shows where the Kevlar is.

Confused

I think their site is very misleading.

I cant find anywhere on their site that tells you which models dont have pockets for the armour.

Misleading IMO

Look at the previous message though, it does state that they should have the extra length under knee Armour pockets, depends how you see it I guess.

If they argue the least they should do is edit that picture so it does incorporate all their designs.

Those images show you where the protection, yes.
It also shows if it has pockets on the knees.

Misleading maybe, but I doubt you'll get anything from them.

Did you stick your hand UP the leg and not DOWN it as the velcro fastening for the removable protection on protective jeans in at the bottom of the pocket and not at the top ?...

How do you know it also shows where the pockets are? Because on ALL the womens range they have failed to include armour pockets so all those pictures wont show the pockets. Now unless I looked on the mens range which shows the pockets on the image how would I know that (being female and looking at the womens range) the picture will include the pockets if it has them?

women won't be riding fast enough to require additional protection from abrasion, however asbestos reinforced jeans to help with heat protection from hot pans in the kitchen would be beneficial. Idea

It would appear that Sartso believe ladies don't actually ride motorcyles looking at the pics on the website. Confused

I notice that for the full range of mens pants the photos show the rider wearing a pair of nice shiny bike boots. For the womens range they vary from canvas trainers (with unfastened laces) to open-toed high-heeled sandals. While I have ridden in both in the past (OK I may have fastened my laces!) I don't recommend either in terms of protection for the old tootsies.......

Suspect that as they seem to think women don't ride they don't need the protection of extra armour. If I were you Shereen I don't think I'd be swapping my ladies jeans for a pair of badly fitting mens, I think I'd be asking for a full reund under the Sale of Goods Act (item not fit for purpose) and spending my money with a company that isn't quite so discriminatory and sexist. Thumbs Up

I tend to agree - I find it all very sexist.

Also I had to get 2 sizes bigger than usual as the jeans were on the small size pretty much everywhere! And its not due to me eating too many mince pies Laughing Im a curvy 12 and I couldnt get their attempt of a size 12 up past my thighs Thumbs Down

I reckon knee armour in jeans is as likely to cause you damage as prevent it.

It is invariably in the wrong place and there are no straps to anchor it in position.

Unfixed armour in the wrong place does more harm than good.

Knee armour should be about a third of the way down the outside of your shin when you're stood up if you want it to land up on your knee when you're sat on the bike.

I took the knee armour out of my red route trousers for this reason.

I dont wear the armour either. It was always too far down on my berik ones that I got last year. This year I got hood ones and I asked for no armour. Not sure where it is in these jeans but I think that kevlars are meant to look like normal jeans and having bulky jeans defeats the object. If I want (and will get) fully armoured jeans, I would get either proper textile or proper leather bottoms.

Call me stupid but stinkwheels reasoning gives me another reason.

Still, check out Hood as the coverage is great and they literally look like jeans. Others have sort of squares and stuff that you can tell where it has been put in but other than being a bit thicker, the hood's look regular. Not sure if they have a ladies range though but many people say they are the best, have great testimonials that you can read on their site and are £30 cheaper than sartso's.

HTH Thumbs Up

Its not really about if they have armour or not, its about the fact that the whole of their womens range dont have armour. Why?

Its just a bit shit from my point of view Confused
