Picked up my Akito 1 piece leather suit today, almost new condition in black, perfect fit (with a tiny amount of breaking in), £20 all in.

Feel like i got a bargain, and feeling jammy, for once.

Whats your best been?

A set of Nonfango paniers for 30p each.

Mildly ironic as I had just missed out on a Givi set which went for £95 just for the rack!. While I managed non Fango for the full setup.

You just look for uncool brands, or makes that people overlook in favor of other ones. Either because the brand is extinct or they are uber niche.

Nonfango for example is virtually unheard of. People who want hard luggage go Givi, Krauser or metal mule or BMW own brand. It helps Nonfango went bust in 2007 but came back in 2008.

Or look for something which is in good condition but has something wrong with it which is easily and cheaply fixable.

Those 30p panniers for example had no keys. I had a look at replacement locks £27 for two locks and keys. Then I thought about asking a local locksmith who initially wanted £16, but charged me £10 for both.

Or a motorbike jacket with an iffy zip. Got for £2(+6 post) I took it down to my local alteration and sewing shop who isn't busy at all who put a new zip on it for £4.

A lot of people will turn their noses up at these sorts of things.

My skydive jump suit was similar had a broken zip. I got a £400 competition jump suit which fits me perfectly for £8 Very Happy £4 for a new zip. £3 for some velcro panels. £5 for a knife pocket and tad dah!

The photos flatter them, but i'm still aware of how lucky I've been (with all the bikes I've owned and ridden). Even the ST2 hasn't depreciated much.

I'd say my old Yamaha DTR 125... It was barely 2 years old at the time on a 07 plate with 1,800 miles on it and got it for £1,495.

I got a choice of workshop bench/welding tables for £20 last year - (the owner was going thru a messy divorce and wanted rid of a pile of garage stuff pretty much for the cost of collection and transport)

A set of brand new Alpinestars ladies one piece leathers that were reduced by £200 because they were end of the line and the last set in store. Finding ladies bike gear that fits properly right off the peg is really hard for me and I was considering getting a M2M set which would have been damn expensive Sad I rode to the shop on my bike with a rucksack, they wouldnt fit in so I had to get them posted home. Totally worth it!
