Been torrenting a lot lately and when I try to play them in the dvd player they dont work.

It just comes up with the stop hand Sad

File types I have tried are .avi and .mkv

What file types are compatible and where/how do I convert them?

Thanks!

You need either a DVD player that supports Mpeg4 playback for divx/xvid avis. Matroska support for mkvs. Old DVD players only support MPEG1/2 and either mpg or VOB container filetypes.
