Me and DonnyBrago are at his house looking at bikes/cars on the internet, playing games while getting fucked up on beer, gin and rum.

beats any overpriced, overhyped night out in the local pub which are now charging you £15 for the pleasure of their shit premises Thumbs Up

1. Me blokey is working, doing bouncery things which he doesn't really want to do, but needs must etc

If he wasn't working, I'd be happy enough to get out on the piss with him somewhere if he wanted, but seeing as how he's not:

2. I hate NY Eve at the best of times, so am very happy indoors with the dog, a spliff, and some chocolate biscuits.

It's tradition that me and my wife spend the night together at home drinking champagne and watching hootananny. We much prefer this to the falseness of a random pub/club/bar full of strangers that are ridiculously pissed, where everyone declares their undying love for people they've never met before and stating that 2012 will be the best f'kin year ever!!!!!!!!1111111one1!

Give me a bottle of Taittinger, Jools holland and a chinese takeaway and I'll ring in the new a very happy man!

I've done the boisterous nights out with the daft hats and party horns, singing auld lang syne whilst holding some sweaty blokes hand, screaming about how awesome we're all going to make the next year and snogging any old fat slag that walks past... simply because the clock turned midnight. I've put up with the raging hangovers and not knowing where I've woken up. It was fun, but now that I'm older, I want to start the new year with the only people I want to end the year with; my wife, my son and our dog (well, this year there is also the bump which should hopefully turn into a human around springtime).

I've not decided yet.

Last year I spent it at home with the ex girlfriend as she was ill, the year before that was with a group of friends/randoms down in Brighton and the latter was barely any more fun simply because it was NYE Laughing

Will probably just be a local pub with a mate or two if I do head out, its always worth it as you may get a sniff of a house party Thumbs Up

Dont like this time of year for three reasons

1. Another over hyped time of year and an excuse for shops/pubs/clubs/taxis to ramp up their prices to rape us all for our hard earned

2. Had an operation on my elbow so don't want anyone banging into me, as the wound has already burst open once and had to be re-stitched.

3. My dad died new years day Crying or Very sad

My wife is under the weather with a cold/flu thing and my mum suffered a stroke on Christmas Eve, is paralysed down her right side and can't talk properly. It'll be a long, slow road to recovery. I don't feel like celebrating. Neutral

It's too loud.... I'm too old...... Sad

Don't do NYE in pubs/clubs cos I get claustrophobic with too many people invading my personal space, I'm not a touchyfeely person and having random strangers trying to hug and kiss me makes my skin crawl.

So we were going to go to the beach again but it would've meant a night sleeping in the back of the car and the weather forecast is shit this year.

Thought about wazzing down the M6 to join some of the North lads and blow some shit up, but that would've meant either one of us staying sober to drive home or kipping in the car, see above.

Had a few invites to various friends/family but again it would've meant either a designated driver or an uncomfortable night.

So this year we have had a takeaway and are about to get stuck into some New Year spirits - gin for him, bacardi for me. He has some stuff to explode later if the rain stops.

Quiet nights with your partner FTW!! Cheers Thumbs Up

I'm working. Been on call since the 24th. I'm just sitting here, waiting for someone to set off a fire alarm in Redditch so I get loads of over time! I'm gunna get my head down in a bit, as history shows the phone rings about 2am, just as everyone is starting to get home.

An expensive pub or club where I've got to pay to get in, pay for overpriced drinks that are ten times as much as they usually are, and thats even if I can get served because its so damn busy.

Plus I don't drink so what would be the point? It just seems like torture to me. My wife is working a night shift at the hospital so I'm just chillin'. I might go and see my mate across the road though if I can be arsed.

Hehe, tell it like it is Mr. Green

None of us really want to be bothered going out, else we would.
Except those working, who might, but if they REALLY wanted to go: they would have booked the night off.

I hate the pressure of New Years Eve worse than the pressure of Christmas. As pointed out above, where is the fun in going out, paying to get into somewhere you wouldnt normally pay to get in anywhere, and then paying a huge amount for drinks just so you can have the pleasure of some drunken smelly farty type slobbering on you. Or worse: NOT having some drunken smelly farty type slobbering on you (I have an unfortunate knack of throwing up an invisible wall around myself at social events)

And then ... having a hangover.
