i have been looking for a ktm exc 200 for a wile now and found nothink even close to me.

now i have found a 2001 exc not too far only thing is he wants 1800 for it. which i have seen some exc"s cheaper than that

but this one is mint condition best i have seen with 11 months m.o.t and 11 months tax..new exel wheels and full engine rebuild..it is alot cleaner than newer ones i have seen

should i pay 1800 for it of wait for a cheaper one which could take some time

thanks james

The prices have gone up and you get points for tax and test, but that still seems high for an 01.

How about this one: https://www.tmxnews.co.uk/tmx/dirtshop/view.php?id=3116
(I think it may be an 03 or later, but not 100% - the big difference I know of is that they use a bigger front spindle (26mm not 20mm) after 02 - looks to be the bigger one, but hard to tell from pictures.)

I expect the market will pick up given a couple of weeks. I definitely wouldn't be spending £1800 on a 2001 200EXC personally.

Why don't you call them up and ask? Might find they're in the next street to you!

Quite a few on gumtree, with locations: https://www.gumtree.com/search?q=200+EXC&search_location=&category=all&search_scope=title .

I think a 200 of that age wouldn't fetch any more than a grand. My friend has a '99 and he got it for £700.

I think the 99 comes with RWU suspension, while the 01 comes with newer design.

Generally the 200s from the last decade do seem to hold a bit of a premium. I got my 99 300 with 05 suspension, tax and test for £930 or something on ebay, with a few spares - seems to remember yours was similar.
