TWOC'ers Preventing Your Bike From Theft

I am starting this topic because of the amount of little scumbags who steal are pride and joys just to have a laugh, this rockets our insurance premiums and causes us a lot of hassle.

On the 14th of september as i pulled into my estate at about 8 ish i could hear another moped but couldn't see one i eventually saw a kid with no helmet or lights in my mirrors as i carried on going through the streets towards my house i noticed he was without a doubt following me, so i looped around for ten minutes and eventually lost him i parked my scooter on the drive went in the house to get the garage keys and i heard a moped again, the same kid at the end of my drive i jumped out the door and went to my scooter he then road up the street i opened my garage door and he came up to the drive again, he looked at me and started shouting 'what the fu(K you looking at you prick' and then told me that my 'ped ain't gonna be there in the morning' so i put the scooter in the garage put my two heavy duty chains on my disk lock my bicycle lock and an old steering wheel lock (through the wheel) locked and alarmed the garage as i walked out about three doors down there was the kid and his scooter again but with a mate, they then rode up too me spat at me and shouted 'i'm gonna have that you knob' so i put the second alarm on and my cctv on and stayed up till about two with a bat waiting for them, in the end they didn't come but i get the feeling there gonna try it soon. This isn't the first time its happened about three months back, my dad came for his lunch brake whilst on nights to find three kids on a crosser trying to break into the garage, they all jumped on one bike and went down a footpath, and before this i've had someone come up my drive in mid day and try to break the steering lock. I'm getting so sick and tired of it.

Sounds like you could do with a 'trap' bike, you baseball bat and a load of mates .

Doubt this sorta thing bumps up insurance that much, because (no offense) it's rarely bikes that are worth claiming for. In general it seems to be they go for cheaper/older bikes/slower bikes; maybe they have enough sense to realise they would kill themselves on a bigger bike?.

had a cunning idea about getting some 12v air horns and one of those door magnetic/connection breakers in an effort to kill any robber just by shock when they open the door

When I first got my NSR all the local dickheads fancied their chances "I'm gonna have that away mate" etc etc. Didn't help that I had to ride through a 'troubled estate' on the way home each day. Only once though did they actually try anything. My parents looked out the window one night after hearing a noise and saw three kids clambering all over my covered and locked NSR. They ran off sharpish. I waited up the next few nights, ready for them to come back and have another go - they never did though Shame.

I still could never own a crosser. Anyone who buys one anywhere near the Medway towns will be followed home and have it stolen very quickly. There's always stolen crossers blatting around on the fields/roads near here.

I still haven't got a place with a garage yet, so I'm waiting for the local dickheads to snoop around here. If I catch them at it myself I swear I'll be up in court for murder. If I get caught that is

you need to sneak down to your local electricity sub station, *carefully* take a feed off the high voltage main, run a cable (hidden obviously) up to your bike, drian all the fuel out of your tank and disconnect the battery, attach to the frame somewhere, retire into the house, close net curtains, sit back, put on some mellow music and enjoy the show

If someone tried to get in at my bike, my mums car or the house etc (and there are loads of chavs etc around where I live) I have an oriental knife, about 8inches long hidden but easy to reach in room. Also the kitchen knifes, an old RFC swagger stick and lots of nice breakable crappy crockery we don't use any more, not to mention the variety of garden tools in reach. There would be nothing left except a bit of mincemeat. Then, a short trip to the weir later, all gone!

(Actuly a bit worried. Tomorrow going on a marching band trip to Tilehurst and we are going to march through the place apparantly. Does anyone know if any one actuly goes to school in that place? I'm VERY nervous. Anyone on here live in that area and is available in the morning as Pangbourne College marching band protection? Please? . . . . .Somebody?!. . . .)

Scott, it could be worth report that to the police, just so they have their description etc, and it means them saying they're going to nick your bike is recorded. Don't expect them to do anything now, but it means if someone else has reported a similar thing they're more likely to start looking out for them.

Hook a few home made alarms up to your garage door alarm. Make sure all the lights are turned off in there, and then have a couple of bright strobe lights right next to the door.

As nice as it would be to kick the shit out of someone trying to nick a bike, anyone remember the Tony Martin case, the farmer who shot some kids who broke into his farm house and he got put in jail?

I had some 2 guys actually ride down my drive at 1 am in the morning on a Gilera Runner and NRG. I was still awake as i was doing my coursework and heard some high pitched 2 stroke wails - it seemed like a couple of them. I peered through my curtain to discover one of the bikes had actually drove down the driveway itself whilst the other rider waited. It seems that they had triggered the floodlights and in doing so, mr (unt Jr made a hasty retreat out of my drive, giving me a chance to clock them.

I met up with the guys on just by coincidence as they were filtering aggressively through up to a set of traffic lights, pulled up alongside me and raced me off the lights. They stopped ahead and had a chat - they figured it was "the guy that lived at the house" and i also happend to know a few of his friends, and that i had an immobiliser on my NRG; they didn't bother - i eventually got one of their numbers, his bro's a mechanic at Rex Judd... But regardless of that, i doubt that I or any other person would like some random faggot intruding into your property to scout it out! Ped bois

Most bike thiefs will try to push the bike away somewhere so they can 'work' on it to get it started. It is almost impossible to push a motorbike without the bars securely attached. The handlebars are held on with four bolts and the clamps fit easily in your pocket....

You wont believe this as i used my brothers bike lock to secure my scooter i was unhappy to realise he had taken the keys so i could not use my scooter, so i got my bike out to go to a mates house on the same estate where the council houses are, guess who i saw, the same kid wearing exactly the same clothes riding round with his girlfriend on the back, i use to go to school with his girl friend who lives in the same street as my mate, turns out my mate knows him, he hangs around the shop selling drugs, and is known for selling stolen peds to kids for £50. I'm not sure if i wanna get involved with getting revenge, but i've told the police about the other night there doing nothing about that, but i've given them all the info on the kid and where he hangs around and btw he wears a burberry cap, why is it only chav's who seem to steal bikes/peds?

I also went to my local hardware store today and brought loud contact alarms for the garage door on top off the camera two alarms and 5 locks fitted.

I've told the police everything that happened but they just gave me an incident number, I'm really disappointed with the police over here, a couple of months back my mums car got petrol bombed which write off the £10k car and did considerable damage to the driveway and front off the house, we had a dog unit come out about an hour later after clearly saying we saw a man jump into a red audi wheelspin off away from the house, we then waited over 6 hours for the police to come and take statement they gave us an incident number and we haven't heard from them since.

So if my scooter does get stolen i'm just gonna have an incident number thrown at me, lucky i paid out for TPFT, but if it does get stolen i don't know how i'm gonna afford to insure a soon to come rs 250 (hopefully)

i would follow the cnut in my car if i ever saw him whilst i was driving, hoping to get him on a quiet road then shun the back end in, maybe a pit style maneuver. he wont go to the police cause chavs "dont do pigs" and besides hes on an assumingly stolen/un-insured ped with no helmet. depending how fucked off i was when he was on the floor i would be tempted to get out and either hit him or load him into the boot to take him
