What tipped the jury off? Their free and frank admissions? Thinking

Another victory for EU-style justice. Keep trying till you get the result you want.

Now, let's go over those parliamentary expenses again and have some more trials...

By the way, we're all clear that they'll get out on appeal and then live it rich on compensation, right? Let's have no illusions as to that.

They were rightly convicted, but do you think so much money would be spent to convict them if they weren't white?

How many parents of white kids killed by blacks have got MBEs? Or have had the race card thrown around?

Inverted racism is just as bad as blatant racism.

I wonder how many times the parents of Lawrence have said or thought, " I'll get them white cracker fucks" ? I bet they have.

Bear in mind that the original investigation and prosecution was nobbed up because of (real) institutional racism in the Met, so turn around is fair play. The investigating officers initially assumed that it was black-on-black violence (and therefore didn't really count), and missed the critical window to secure physical evidence.

The affirmative action recruitment and promotion in the Met and other Farces since then has (IMO) gone too far and let too many useless tossers climb too high up the slippery pole, but without that the Inspector and above ranks would still be entirely Masonic crackers. Hopefully it'll swing back a bit and balance out eventually.

Did you not see the video where one of that was spewing out racist vitriol? I am in no doubt they attacked him because he was black. Whether this should make a different to the sentence on way the crime is investigated is another matter.

Is someone killing someone else because they are black worse than someone killing someone else for no reason?

Apart from the clinically insane, I wonder if anyone has ever murdered another for no reason?

It would depend on ones definition of the word "reason" I guess.

Absolutely not, and I find all such legislation utterly repugnant.

The (deliberate) act and the consequences are all that should matter. Mens rea shouldn't have a sliding scale.

In this case, since most black yoofs are now done over by other black yoofs, we have the perverse situation where a life is valued less if it's "only" taken away over drugs or some slag rather than because of skin pigmentation.

I thought a compromise sentence of manslaughter was what they would get ....

Beyond reasonble doubt, if the forensics are not from comtamination and or planted, then their guilty of being there, how they can for sure, then say these two killed them is very questionable imo.

Sound like a bunch of wide eyed loons who struggle with the spoken word to me. Rolling Eyes

I'm including because 'he looked at me funny' as no reason!

At least there are no n00bs here like there were on the Jeremy Vine show earlier saying convict them as adults for murder.

People have no concept of a legal system.

Day doesn't go by without us being reminded about this case. I'm sure they'll find new reasons to bring it up on the news in future in case anyone were to forget about it for more than a day.

Don't get me wrong though, it's always wrong when an innocent person get attacked or killed, but this case gets special attention from the media when so many other cases never make the headlines.

Ooh, life with 15 and 14 year minimum terms, and I doubt even the bleeding hearts in a parole board will be in a hurry to let them out.

They were indeed only shown to have "been there", rather than either of them carrying or using the knife that killed Lawrence, but that can be sufficient to convict for murder. Remember, there was an eye-witness who said that all of the gang were directly involved in the violence, rather than any of them just being observers.

But let's be honest, given their own actions and caught-on-record diatribes down the years, I'd be fairly certain that the jury were just looking at their watches and wondering when they'd get to hang them based on what they'd already read in the Daily Fail rather than anything that was said in the courtroom.

Since I personally believe that they did do it, and further that they are murderous worthless thug mongs who should rot in the dark until they're too old to be a threat or nuisance to anyone else ever again, I have absolutely no problem with that, or with the remaining three murders being convicted by any means necessary.

They'd probably already cleared the attack with the Met before they did it and didn't think there was any need.

When you read how much they'd already got away with, they probably did honestly think there was no need - and there very nearly wasn't.

What is curious is how little attention the daily shootings and stabbings that occur between blacks on the streets is given to by the media.

Arguably race plays an equally big if not bigger factor in that.
