need a new car.

Well, a second hand car up to about £3000.

My Alfa sportwagon is on its last legs, terminal electrical problems (bloody Italian crap Laughing ) so I need a new car. It needs to be an estate type with a low back door so my elderly GSD can get in and out easily.

I like big cars, preferably with a bit of get up and go (my Alfa was a 2.5litre)

Has anyone got any suggestions for something reliable that fits these criteria and isn't an absolute boor to drive!

Karma for some good ideas!

Mondeo ST220 Estate, or an ST Tdci if you can find one in your budget. I think they look awesome.

To MORTON, I was thinking about ramps and a 4x4, but he's not that old yet, just gets knackered after a long walk Laughing

Audi A6 Avant?

A nice big comfy estate with some get up and go if you get the right model. If you get the quattro I believe their rear ends are quite low (lowered suspension), never owned one so not too sure.

Goodlooking doggie. Ramp wouldn't be a bad idea, as GSDs are prone to hip and elbow dysplasia, so reducing the distance to ground, especially from a standing start would help him.

I have always had a soft spot for the old shape SUBARU Impreza Turbo Estates, I would be looking for unmolested examples, a friend has one something like 150k on the clock and has no issues, he uses it as his winter driving hack,

my GSD is 10 now and she's stiffening up a bit - the hips are usually the first things to go. Got a nice grey muzzle

She loves going out in the car though - Audi A4 1.6. Doggie guard in the back and she has the boot all to herself.

She needs help climbing in now, one of these does the trick:

I would love one, but the chances are most have been abused unless you get a very new/expensive one
