Just fitted the new split link to my bike (the clip and metal bit came off at 60mph the other day, luckily the actual pin stayed in just and i managed to hobble home).

It all seems fine, just took the bike up and down the road, but i didnt do any of that flattening of the head type stuff - do i need too?

The pin went on, is facing the correct way and seems secure. Sorted?

Split links are okay for small size bikes but not advisable for big bikes. If you can source a soft link this would be more secure.

Whenever I fit a split link to any of my dirt bikes I always pry the outer plate up tight against the spring clip. This outer plate should be an interferance fit and should not easily come adrift.
