Could try camping? Or see if there are any B&B available?

Don't do what I done when I went to Vanencia with the old man. We turned up with no bookings and ended up getting bum rapped for €50 a night each in a 1 star hostel thats normally €9 a night. Also had to move round a fair bit stayed in 3 places over 6 nights, going back to 1 hotel twice. Racing was awsome, saw Rossi come off and break his hand on the Saturday right infront of me and didn't think he would race on the Sunday, but he did. Good times Cool

Clicking the link Marmalade posted reminded me of when I stayed in France, a Hotel Ibis. Thumbs Up

An Ibis and a Formula 1 are two very different beasts.

One has self cleaning shared toilets, the other doesn't. Very Happy

You'll have to look further afield. For example Alencon is about 30 miles north of Le Mans, so closer to home but in striking distance if you have transport. It's a good sized place so stuff to see and do (and eat and drink).

A group of my friends went last year, they camped. They said it was inside the grounds...and it was a brilliant atmosphere, safe, fun, inclusive...they had a fab time. Thumbs Up

Not sure about Le Mans but I camped at Silverstone this year, we took the car rather than the bike, loaded it to the hilt with spare clothes, beer, camping gear, food etc.

We BBQd ourselves for the most part, my boot manages to keep pretty cool so we took frozen food in coolbags which did keep kinda frozen until sunday. Think we ate out a few times as well.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat and more than likely will this year, but that was camping in a nice big tent with loads of stuff with us and good prep. I'd do 3 days camping on the bike but think i'd struggle to be as comfy.

Dont get put off by the lively areas, some days we stayed up late and had a few beers but I think on Saturday we were in bed for 9:30, so it's possible to camp in a lively area and actually get some sleep.

I've never done Le Mans MotoGP but the 24hr is ALL about the campsite.

Forget this poncey notion of a comfy bed & hot shower in a hotel or B&B, simply pitch your tent then PARTY with the eurotrash & try not to let the side down Very Happy

This...
just take a tent and book Houx annexe campsite or any of the others, we go to the 24hrs every year for the last 10 and the camping is a huge part of it (we have a week there), the atmosphere, being able to get pissed without needing a driver etc oh and the fireworks and random drunken stuff lol.
I was thinking of going to the gp this year on my bike too Thumbs Up

Another option for camping is a little village just south of Le Mans called Eccomoy. There's a nice quiet municipal campsite there with a cleaned toilet and shower block. Its also within walking distance of a supermarket and the village square with a bar/restaurant. Stayed there a few times in the past when I used to go the the 24 hour race and it was always enjoyable.
