Im going to get a bike for around £1000/£1300 to use to get to london to see the missis at uni and maybe go on a few trips with her in the summer months. Wont be for comuting etc.
Having had alot of sports bikes and being off the road for a yr or so im obviously tempted by early Gsxr's, 400's and CBRs etc as they are pretty cheap now...
But despite the temptation, I dont think these will be safe or practical for pillion so im having to become a bit sensible..
Id still like a exciting bike, So i have a few in mind.
Bandit 1200:
Still very very fast, cheap to buy, bullet proof engine, nice upright position, good for pillion i assume? But possibly a bit Heavy/Wallowy and a bit of a nightmare at slow speeds/parking etc compared to the zx6rs/gsxrs and rvfs ive had in the past?
Kwak ZZR600:
Still has a manic Engine, apparently good for pillion? But a bit odd looking? possibly will be a bit Wheezy with a passenger?
GPZ 500/CB500: Very cheap to buy and run, and again a bullet proof engine. But possibly not a good idea 2 up for long distance as engine will find it hard? not very exciting in the company of the other bikes im thinking of?
Any thoughts, other suggestions?
many thanks

Out of those, a bandit 1200, but I didn't realise they were going that cheap.
Bigger is better when touring with a pillion. Both engine size and bike size so she has room to move around on the seat and you have enough in the engine department when she gets al her stuff loaded up ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

Just bought a ZZR 600, the thing seems bloody huge, so definitely should be good for carrying a pillion.
Wasn't it the fastest 600 when it came out? Can't imagine it would struggle carrying a passenger if the top speed is a genuine 150mph...
But in honesty, I have no idea |

Actually a 1998 zx9r does look tempting, i had a 2001 zx6r for a year a while back and that was ok with pillion...
