Bought an old CBR600F 1997 myself a few weeks back. Fatpies is right about the fairing, many of the bolts on mine were rounded off, had to drill a couple out, side panel clips were knackered but superglued them and okay now, bought all new bolts too and copper slipped them on the way back in.
It might save some money if you take the panels and fairing off yourself, especially if its fragile and most are, you can still ride it to a mechanic, at least in the dry.
I only changed the oil and filter, topped up the fluids and sorted some electrical problems. A guy on another forum quoted me £80
for a full service (don't know what he was including probably not bearings or fork oil) he was in Canvey, Essex.
I downloaded a comprehensive manual from a link on this site ____________________ Current Bike: 2004 Suzuki Bandit 600S
