I'm in the process of losing my licence under the new drivers act. Caught speeding twice on a straight country road and two months away from having held my full licence for 2 full years.

I was trying to sort out the Honda Vision which was sitting the the shed so I can at least have transport as soon as I've retaked my CBT. It fails the MOT due to the rear suspension bushes being knackered. I ordered new ones and started to fix it and the whole bracket snapped off the crank shaft casing.

I can't afford to replace it. I need transport to get to work and everywhere.

Completely fucking miserable right now.... What's next?

How can you not notice a speed camera on a straight road? They have signs saying they are there and often painted bright yellow!

Thanks for that... Scum must have been hiding in the bushes. There are no signs or fixed cameras.

Such is life Maria! When you're down it seems every extra thing that goes wrong seems have double the impact it normally would.

Like every rough patch it will pass Wink

If it cheers you up Im not having a good time either right now. Had a horrible christmas with toothache, ended up getting my eeth drilled etc. Woke up today and literally had the worst pain ever, turns out Ive had sinusitus for three weeks and there was never anything wrong with me teeth. Bloody nightmare. To top it off Ive had the dishwasher go bust, the extractor fan packed up, the bathroom radiator leaked, we had a gas leak in the kitchen and I had to cancel my car insurance! Sad

My bike is the world to me.

I keep telling myself how much worse things could be and I know they could... but it's not helping much. Bloody depression just magnifies things x1000.

The thought of doing the CBT again is just a joke!

Villers... sounds like you're not doing much better than I am! Pain sorted yet?

If I went to court I could only appeal against the offence and not "hardship" as it's called. I'm obviously guilty so there's no point.

Forget your sammich, I'd suck off the judge to keep my licence...!

Nope, just started on a course of antibiotics. Currently I cant stand up without my teeth throbbing!

Hopefully will be ok in a few days thanks.

On the face of it though Maria youve been on the receiving end of some proper shit luck, its hopefully not some fateful conspiracy against you and you'll get it all sorted. Get the graft done as early as you can, do the CBT etc and take it one step at a time Thumbs Up

It can't be that important if you couldn't keep it for two years.

Sorry for failing at posting pics but one is attached...

Basically I was changing the blue and the whole of the red snapped off.

Is welding an option?

It was being a bit of a bitch and Mr Hammer did have to get involved, yes.

It looks fine where it snapped... must be made of aluminium or something flimsy.

I'll try to locate welding materials and at least give it a go.

You do remember me telling you to find out what they used, yeah?

I did that for a reason, and without finding out the judge will take your licence just like a little kid annoying a tired parent with a toy.

Find out what they used, then you can discredit them.

I'm willing to help you research it all, find a way to stick the fingers up at Plod but without anything to go off, I don't know where to start.

If you're lazy now, it will bite you in the ass and later on you'll regret not at least trying.

So:

When they stopped you, did they show you what equipment they had?
Could you google image it and spot it?
What did they say to you?
...or was it just a ticket in hand/thru the post?

@everyone else; can a FOI request be used to find out the details of the device used if she doesnt know?

Yeah you could weld that. Remove the old bush first though, then find someone with a TIG welder. Weld it on then press in a new bush.

Not worth its own thread, but the two year thing - is that just for your first license? I've had a full bike license for over 2 years, and looking to get the car test done in the next few months. Will I have to behave in a car for 2 years, or am I fine because I've already held a full license for over 2 years?

Really? Couldn't have that much importance.

Stop feeling sorry for yourself: you didn't "lose" your license, you gave it away. Your choice to speed.

Maybe when you get back on wheels you'll have matured a bit.

Have you been offered a Speed Awareness Scam as an alternative to prosecution?

If not, then you literally have nothing to lose by pleading not guilty and making them actually show up and prove their case.
