Well basically , me being someone who is not very talented in the kitchen I'm hoping someone can recommend me a healthy meal that don't really take too long to make and a complete idiot in the kitchen can master.

Any reccomendations on different healthy options are greatly appreciated...

Stir fry.

Healthy, tasty, easy to make, cheap and infinately adaptable.

Make a huge pan of chicken stew, throw in ingredients, season it, boil it.
Eat one meal, freeze the rest.
When you get bored with stew, liquidise a portion and have chicken soup instead!

I'd get myself a new microwave if I were you.

What I'm doing tonight -

Fry and onion with a jar of curry paste (whichever is to your taste), chuch in some chopped chicken, after a bit chuck in a chopped cauliflower, some green beans and a tin of chick peas and for a few minutes, check in a couple of tins of chopped tomatoes and hey presto a fairly healthy pot of curry.

Serve with brown rice - takes 30 minutes to cook but so does the curry so perfect.

Freeze what you don't eat.

90 mins for a spud in the microwave !!??!! Is that a typo or have I misinterpreted what you write.

You must have a very low power microwave

I stab a couple of big spuds with a sharp/knife or skewer, dribble cooking oil on them, put them in a bowl and cover with cling film. 6 - 7 mins at full power (900W) then plonk them on a tray in a normal oven at 160oC for . . . . until they have a crunchy skin 'cos that is how I like them. Typically 30 - 60 mins. Timing is not critical

For a quickie meal - split the spuds and pour in summat you find ready made in a can

Chilli beef
Chicken curry
Tuna - Mayo

I just bought each of those in B&Ms real cheap.

(I can cook anything but I'm stocking up on easy things because the Mrs is going away for 3 weeks)
