Might be down to riding sports bikes, but this definitely feels odd.

When I want to lean round a corner it feels hesitant and front wheel feels a bit wobbly, both slow speed cruising and corners.

Haven't checked tyre pressures, also haven't checked wheel bearings...both jobs for the morning...but is there anything else to have a quick gander over?

XJ600 1993 Diversion S. 18,000 miles.

Hi

I quite liked the handling of the Divvy I had. Best bit of it.

I would check the steering head bearings. They uses lose ball steering bearings originally, and if they are the original ones I would expect they do be pretty much a mess.

All the best

Keith

My GPz750 feels the same. In my case its 100% head bearings.

What are the tyres like? Square tyres on my Divvy (roadriders... nuff said) meant it felt strange in corners generally and not confidence inspiring.

bearings or tyres. Have owned two divvies, whilst the engine is pretty meek the frame and running gear on them is very good and they handle very well.

another vote for it being square off tyres, or too low tyre pressure

Just to add to the list, check the swingarm for any sideways movement, make sure both the front and rear spindles are tightened correctly, check the fixings for the yokes and bars, and check the rear wheel has been set square in the swingarm.

You would too if you had the pleasure of trying to put a load of lose ball bearings into the steering head bearings without any going walkabout.

All the best

Before I say anything else I will admit to having to check If i used Yolk instead of Yoke.

I believe LordShaftesbury is refering to lose & loose Keith.

Entirely possible.

My spelling is pretty dire (which used to be obvious when the stats page existed Laughing )

All the best

Square tyres or worn headstock bearings would be my first guess.

However, given that you recently crashed could it just be nerves telling you something is wrong? After a crash last year my brain got carried away quite quickly, I went from slightly unsettled rear tyre to impending mortal danger. Needed to pull over and check my rear tyre for holes, oil, etc etc etc. Took a wee while to get fully back into it.

I know you crash weekly so are rather used to it but it is still something to consider.

Laughing

It's not down to nerves, rode home after last accident.

I have ridden this bike before.. it felt a bit scary, but nowhere close to this. Laughing

Either way, its going nowhere, some nugget screwdrivered the ignition.
