Didn't even see the message, watching Biker Vlogs on youtube
Right so to confirm, plan of action is to check the earth from the battery to the starter relay tomorrow when there's light. If that fails, grab a CDI and attempt again! |

That thick dark green wire that goes from the battery to the loom, trace it and you should find it bolts to the plate on the frame where the rectifier attaches
Make sure that the plate and the part bolting to it are shinny and clean making a good clean conection. |

Not sure if this is correct, however the only cable that i can find that is connecting to the frame was beneath the left side of the rear fairing. It does not (at a glance) connect to the frame with any metal contact though.

Also, i saw these 2 small 2-pin and 3-pin nodes that stick out of the loom. Are they likely to be of any relevance?

They seem to be fine however, as i mentioned before, I'm no bike surgeon
Would like to take this opportunity to really thank you for the help you have offered too. I love this website for the friendly and "happy-to-help" people you get on here |

your video & picts are bull shit and it's very hard to catch what you said . the process to check your ignition is simple
and you should forget about a faulty CDI (they burn very rarely)
download my file https://www.geneva-racing.ch/~alains/NSRtips.doc
then do this :
- lift tank on its stick
- take off plug and put a new one (BR9EIX) with the cap on
- let it laying on the cylinder head (plug metal must be in contact with the head)
- push your start button for 3 to 5 s while observing the plug
- if you see a nice blue spark , your problem is in fuel line
if no sparks :
- set your multimeter in Ohmmeter 0-300 Ohms and look my file at page #11 about checking stator & impulse coil
- if it seems OK now set your multimeter on 200 VAC and do not put the plug
- connect multimeter between red/black and any ground (stator connector) then push start button for 5 s , you must read at least 70 VAC , otherwise the stator is out of order
if everything is right , now you can think about the CDI
my experiency shows 15 dead stators against 1 CDI ____________________ the worst day fishing is better than the best day working |
