Other mods with new exhaust

i have a derbi senda x-race 50 and i have been looking at the tecnigas enox exhaust system for it.
i have been told that if change the exhaust i will also need to make the main jet size bigger or it will cause the engine to bog?

will i need to change anything or can i just do a straight swap?

If you change the exhaust to a performance exhaust you HAVE to upjet by around 5% otherwise the engine will run lean and then seize.

Upjetting will adjust the air fuel ratio.

It's not a massive job, don't get scared. All you have to do is loosen the jubilee clip holding the carb onto the reed block then twist the carb to face you. Then take out the two screws in the float bowl (it is good to drain the carb first else fuel gets everywhere) and take the bowl off. Make sure it doesn't touch any parts of your dirty engine. Put it to one side. Now unscrew the middle jet, it will be the biggest one right in the centre. Take it out and put your new, bigger jet in. Now pop the float bowl back on, kick it over like 10 times and it should start fine.

Beware though, it can take some fine tuning to get it to run right.

As Big_Ham said that's what upjetting does. However if you mean adjusting the air mixture screw then no. The air mixture screw only alters the air mixture below about 1/4 throttle.

It's really not a hard job. On my tomos I had to change jets 7 times (Cause I'd made so many mods) and by the end of it, I could do a jet change in about 2 minutes.

But trust me, if you dont heed the warning about upjetting, you may as well put your bike in a scrappie. So many friends of mine have destroyed bikes by not upjetting... and only one has gotten away with it. It doesnt take days for it to happen either, it can happen the first time the engine is ran with the exhaust on if you havent upjetted
