Hello to all the good folk of BCF,

I have knocked about this site for a few years, over my 2 trips into biking, both on 125's first when i was much younger and apart from dropping bike at slow speed twice was about 10k miles of fun, mostly wet and cold since it over winter but loved it.
fast forward about 4 years, was fed up of cars so went off and did my CBT again.

after this got my new pride and joy a 125 Varadero, sadly 10 days later while out for a ride, skidded on a bend woke up in A&E, thankfully i was wearing my full kit, but still did a lot of damage, broken and dislocated my right hip, broke right ankle and snapped left shin, few cuts and bruises, spent a month in hospital, and a month after that in a wheel chair, still now struggle to move around, stand up, walk etc but everything is healing slowly and now come with added metal Very Happy

Safe to say, my girlfriend, mum, friends, boss and so on don't want me anywere near a bike again, i do wan't to get back on one but apart from not wanting to upset or hurt those that care for me, i worry that with the injuries i have, even just dropping the bike would do something nasty so i sadly won' t be getting back into biking going to be sticking with cars, not as fun but they are a little safer at least.

The Crash was on a bend, that is badly surfaced, an accident black-spot and was damp and likely had diesel on it (police didn't say a word but local bikers from local bike breakers said there was), which is a nice combo to hit, but oh well i still don't remember the accident at all, never think i will either i remember bits after it which mostly screaming, pain and getting given morphine Very Happy which is amazing stuff.
From what i can guess, i was off for a ride on a road for first time, got to this bend which tightens up a lot as you go around, and either skidded on the wet/diesel or panicked and slammed the brakes on, either way i ended up smashed up in the road and my bike sat in road that then got hit by a car.

The road is on the b977 near to parkhill garden centre in the outskirts of aberdeen, for any locals that know it.

This isn't much more than a message to say, i have loved my time being around this site, certainly a friendly place, and i know it sounds stupid to say this after crashing as i did, but take a lot of care on roads you don't know,

Ride safe guys!

MTFU Laughing

I ended up in a wheelchair for 8 months and got back on a bike 2 days after getting out of the chair Laughing

If you enjoy bikes, you'll get one again.

I damaged my spine, neck, broken both legs, all my ribs and my big toe. Also got a bit of damage to my brain... but hey wouldn't know the difference! Thumbs Up

Fuel spill on B977 linked to fireball road crash. Looks like a fun road.

Have you considered one of those chintzy Piaggio 3 wheeler things?

You'll already have caught the bad AIDS just by looking that that picture, and it's got to be better than nothing.
