Will another models dials, fit my bike? (suzuki to suzuki)

just got some new dials, rev counters fine, but the bloody speedo is out now, i still have the old one, but the needle has snapped off.

could i use a similar models dials? what about CG dials? not too fussed about the gear indicator, or speedo but i need to know how fast im going.

its annoying having just spent £20 sodding quid on some. or anyway to fix a snapped needle on my other speedo i have in my tool box?

Hi

Speedos can either be electronic or cable driven. And in either case have different 'gearing' for the same speed. Same for the rev counter.

So yes they can be swapped over but you might find the readings a bit strange.

Depends how it's snapped, but probably can be fixed.

Or can get a push bike speedo - though go for a wired one and I found the really cheap ones often started to mis-read at speed, but a more expensive one was fine to at least 150mph or so.

Im doing the same at the mo with 96 bandit clocks on a 91 GSXR front, I was told that if the wheel of the donor bike (one the clocks came off)'s wheel is the same size as the wheel of your bike (both presumably front, but i could be wrong) and they are both driven by cable then it should be okay to use. Im yet to test this but it makes sense.
Im not sure about the electric stuff, same principle i guess .
