Im doing the same at the mo with 96 bandit clocks on a 91 GSXR front, I was told that if the wheel of the donor bike (one the clocks came off)'s wheel is the same size as the wheel of your bike (both presumably front, but i could be wrong) and they are both driven by cable then it should be okay to use. Im yet to test this but it makes sense.
Im not sure about the electric stuff, same principle i guess .
