Ive brought this topic up before...

My bike is idling at around 4000rpm when it is warmed up.

It occassionally drops back down to 1500rpm, but for the most of it im stuck at the lights with 4000rpm.

Ive checked the seals around the carb, they seem to be fine, so there should be no air leaks.

Only thing I can think is that it must be something to do with the carb.

Im planning to clean it with carb cleaner, but has anyone got any ideas of what the problem could be??

Cheers

You say you've checked the seals for leaks but how have you done this? The way i would do it is to start bike and spray wd40 around the seals, if the engine note changes you have a leak in that area.

Also if you leave the choke on (presuming it's manual) does it idle better?

I will check with wd40.

Seems as though something is sticking in the carb, but i really dont know to be honest.

If i put the choke on the revs shoot even higher.
