My friend crashed. After an hours riding, I;d set my helmet camera to auto photo every 3seconds instead, these photos don't really show what happened, more a before and after. Road was very slippy roundabouts there. Front wheel skid, it seemed to me, twitched into bank then off onto road. Broken collarbone.

Not enough lean, probably worried about wet grip panicked and hit the bank.

Moral of the story lean more rather than hit the brakes if you got in too hot. Thumbs Up

I did something similar many years ago, lack of experience/confidence. At least him and the bike look ok.

Edit, just read the bit about broken collar bone! GWS to your mate.

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v616/THXII38/Bikes%202012/FILE0141.jpg That pic tells you something about the riders roadcraft.

https://img.photobucket.com/albums/v616/THXII38/Bikes%202012/FILE0142.jpg ..and here he is entering a right hand bend virtually on the white line.

Glad nothing serious happened n all that, but why ride on the part of road that offered the worst view and the least grip. Looks like it had started to rain...

Tense and target fixation finished off the scene.

+1 to the not leaning enough mentioned above. Looks like he kacked it mid way round and grabbed a handful of front brake, giving the wiggle you saw.

Chalk that one down to experience. Sorry to hear about the injury.

Looked to me like a classic crash

Panicked, stood the bike up and hit the bank

Loosing the front wheel is the classic excuse, although the front wheel probably did let go, but only because he probably had his hand on it while it was drifting toward all the crap and mud at the edge of the road.

But we have all been there, i highsided into a hedge of a BCF rideout, ran out of road and lean, as the bike got closer to the edge of the road it hit all the crap, mud leaves etc and i was long gone .

Fair play to the scooter rider for stopping and helping. Not sure many scooterers around these parts would do the same
