Hi all I'm a newbie to the forum, not had a bike for about 5 years but looking to get one and complete my test asap. If anyone knows of any 125's in the Midlands for sale for around £500 then please let me know.

How old are you? You could perhaps do the DAS test instead of buying a clapped out 125 for that sort of money. Then when you come to buy a larger bike you get more bang for your buck.

Every-one wants a 'cheap' 125; you will be struggling at that money anywhere, and will be lucky to get something with tax and test on it for that kind of cash, I'm afraid. Plenty of bikes around for that sort of price, but most are fixer-uppers... 'Just need fork seals for MOT' kind of thing that when you get home, you are as like to find need a complete tear down renovation!

And this year, with 370 days to new test rules; every-one has the same idea!

Well not "everyone" had the same idea Tef, give us a break and don't advertise it anymore, I'm having difficulty already in getting training bookings to suit me.

Why do I wish I hadn't said that?
(Spot-on Tef.)

Laughing
I happily have had a full licence for twenty years; I dont HAVE to ride a tiddler...

I have three Honda CB125 Super-Dreams to 'fix up' as project bikes, and a DT125.... I could be making a killing, couldn't I?

But for some reason RATHER then fixing up a couple of the honda's to flog on... I'm renovating the Yamaha to keep!

And having a running battle with Number-four-son, who's 17th is in April, and is CONVINCED I am fixing up the DT for his Birthday Present, so he can get his tests before 3rd Dir; and Number-six-Step-Son, 18 November just gone & dissolusioned having just done his car test he cant actually afford to insure anything, who wants to know when Snowie has 'done' with the Pup, because by HIS reckoning, soon as she passed Mod 2, THAT bike ought to be HIS!

Curiously neither is particularly inclined to roll their sleeves up and have a go fixing up one of the 'Spare' Super-Dreams....
