I don't like it and would prefer some other protective coating. I would particularly like the look of brushed aluminium.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Experiences? Not chromed bits to show off?

Searching for chrome nowadays brings up nothing but references to google's browser.

You only like brushed aluminium because you haven't seen Diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings yet.

Silver is 'Sparkle Silver' powder coat;l normally put on car alloys for the aluminium effect;

First tried it on Snowie's Com-Stars & rack

Wont work so good on exhaust's though, but otherwise, great coating medium & wide selection of colours... or ordinary 'paint'... depends what you want to cover really.....

Never heard of it. After a quick google it looks as though pics don't do it justice. Some of the images look interesting but it doesn't look like a digital camera picks it up properly. I'll try to find some to look at IRL

Hadn't really thought of powder coating, just protective metal layers or similar. Not a bad Idea! I'm wanting to cover the bright work on my fiat 500, ordinary paint probably won't give me the effect I'm looking for.

Ah! its an old fiat....
Hmm... difficult.... they tend to media clean and then acid wash parts before powder coating..... and FIATS as I recall always had a habbit of dissolving rather rapidly without any 'help' Wink

What about laquer? Maybe hard as nails epoxy two-pack.

Leave the chrome effect, just give it some protection? Done that enough times after rubbing up headlamp rings and 'stuff'
