Hi,

I'm 17 and just got my first 125, looking at insurers and they are a little more than I was expecting. Can anyone recommend any cheap ones?

just go with the usual price comparisons really - they tend to turn up the best prices from experience. A littler known one has turned up some decent quotes for me lately www.tiger.co.uk

There is no such thing as the cheapest......

Far to many variables in every case to be able to say a is cheaper than b.

Rampdale.

Just renewed for the 2nd year with them, because they're still offering the cheapest insurance I can find.

I've been on gocompare, bikeinsurer etc, and Rampdale are offering at least 20% less on their quotes then all the well known insurers.

I found thebikeinsurer cheapest this time round aswell.

For years I always went with the cheapest I could find because it was so expensive. Im a bit older now so I have more choice but (slightly offtopic) I went back to 'ceapest' for my car insurance this year and regretted it. I went with some company that I hadnt heard of but were very cheap. When the paperwork came through it was very shoddy, they had sent me loads of forms asking for details that were already on the covernote. I filled it all in and sent it back, then I got a letter threatening to cancel my insurance because I hadnt sent them the forms or proof of no claims (which they didnt ask for!).

I ended up phoning them up and cancelling within the hour of receiving that second letter. I cant trust them (even worse than normal for an insurer) to deal with basic paperwork so I cant trust them for anything else. I went back with direct line, got no demands through the post or anything.

I know when you are young its very difficult to get insurance, let alone at a good price, but if you have a better option for the sake of 50 quid or so you should consider if 'cheaper' is 'better' when it comes to the company Thumbs Up

Also I got ripped off in my first year of biking by carole nash, never again!
