Hi

I'm looking for some advice regarding a faulty phone.

I had my Samsung Galaxy S2 for around 7 months when it developed an issue with the display, Early this moth I took it back to the Vodafone store to have it repaired. 1 week later I collected it and no repair had been carried out, only a software update.

I once again explained the issue and after some attempted fobbing off by vodafone staff they accepted the repair.

Now I have received the phone with a replacement display however it has a different fault on it. Instead of light horizontal lines, large parts of the screen are a noticeably different shade:

I expect I will be back for another repair job, however I really want them to swap it for a new unit that I can inspect prior to acceptance because I have lost all trust in them.

Legally, where do I stand with this, can they just keep offering to repair this phone until I get bored and give up?

Update:
Took it back this evening rather than tomorrow and they have booked it in for another repair.

The one person there with any kind of authority was on her way home so wasn't really interested but did say that if they don't fix it within 3 goes for the same issue they will replace the phone. She said this was in the legal stuff in what I sign. It wasn't on there, only that they will do that after 'A reasonable amount of time' has passed. Fortunately in a way after she left the guy that I was dealing with that wasn't very interested happily wrote on my sheet that they will in fact replace the handset if it's not fixed this time.

It's a shame that 'A reasonable amount of time' isn't quantified, it would make life a lot easier.

Thanks

Same problem with Voda - I wont be going back.
On my 3rd replacement I was 'promised' if it went again, I could choose another phone.
The phone indeed had a new fault, I explained on the phone that I could choose another phone - how ever I was given a list of rubbishy, lower end phones that cost pence.
Im guessing you have contract? Ive decided to hold out till mine ends (June) This phone (my 5th) Is going back tommorow with yet another fault Thumbs Down
Good luck in getting another phone & keep us updated.

Hi

I'm not with Voda no, I'm with Orange. I suspect that puts me below pay as you go customers in their eyes.

I'm happy with the phone, just not their repair attempts.

Good luck to you with your phone. I'll probably take mine back tomorrow too.

I purchased the handset from Voda as they were the cheapest at the time. It wasn't carrier locked so I put my orange SIM in it.

Last Update

I guess they got sick of seeing my phone so gave me a new one. Not sure if it's brand new or a refurb but it's without fault so my trips to voda have finally come to an end.
