Polished steel tank...

My project really needs a polished tank, getting rid off paint, and making shiny is not the problem, how do I keep it that way, or what can I use to help me?
I saw the answer posted on this forum to some one elses similar question a few months ago, and fk'me I can't find it Rolling Eyes

I saw something on Bike Exif not too long ago with a bare steel tank. Regular wiping down with WD40 was required if I remember rightly.

Have it chromed. Doesn't have to be bright chrome.

Lacquer, as suggested is just paint without the colour and you can get it in matt If you want. The only problem is that you need something for the paint to grab to and a polished tank isn't the best.

Nickel is cheaper than chrome and a better colour imho. Zinc is cheap but not reflective. Passivation is cheaper still, will resist corrosion and would certainly be unique on a tank.

I was expecting a protracted... don't know! from (Edit) Teflon, less said and a lot to be encouraged for brevities sake though

Scotch also do a spray originally named '1600'. I haven't personally tried it but the Scotch zinc spray is good.
