It does usually explain the stuff on the sites.
Homestart, they'll help if at home or break down within 2-5 miles away from home
Roadside - They'll help you anywhere but recovery/towing is usually to the next motorway junction, 10 miles or local agent only.
Recovery - they'll tow you home if required
Relay plus/onward travel/accommodation - they'll sort and pay for a hire car/public transport or hotel etc while yours is fixed or recovered
Any claim or dervice is usually provided up to the value of the vehicle so for a chinkie roadside would probably provide enough cover to the value of the bike ~£15 ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? I used to work for a recovery co' that had contracts with all the clubs & can honestly say that I wouldn't touch any of them with a bargepole.
Be ESPECIALLY aware of cheap cover that comes tagged with things like bank accounts, vehicle insurance policies etc. You aren't always getting what you assume you are !
I & almost everyone I know, use these people :-
www.autoaidbreakdown.co.uk
If your bikes over 150cc & you could normally afford to pay out in advance, then it can't be beaten.
If not, then I used to use Greenflag in preferance to <spits> RAC or AA. |

I use AA, they may have their issues but are fully accountable for what they do.
I have personal cover at £7 a month for everything.
Full euro cover with the AA via carol naish, included with insurance
ADAC, full euro cover.
Greenflag are ok mainly but it is all agent serviced so you may get a decent trained and qualified mechanic one time and the next some trained monkey who wouldn't know where the petrol goes. ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? I'll be switching from Green Flag to Auto Aid at next renewal. I've read their current policy document carefully and like what I see. There are fewer exclusions than anyone else - they explicitly do cover accident damaged vehicles, which is great. It's policy holder plus spouse, and any vehicle and they really do mean (nearly) any vehicle - there's no minimum cc (or maximum age) on motorcycles.
There may have been at one time, but given that you're paying up front yourself, you'll get to argue the toss (and win) from the comfort of your sofa rather than at the side of the road. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I need cover aswell, Auto Aid sounds good
Just a few questions tho,
do they repair bike punches at the side of the road or do they just recover the bike ?
What about if you come off your bike or was in a accident ?
If you was 100+ miles away from home will they take you Straight home ?
If you make a claim how do they pay you the monies back if you paid by credit card.
thanks to anyone who can clear this up for me |

I'm with AA at the moment. I usually swap each year between AA & RAC to get the introductory offers but I forgot cause I was away this year .
So it cost me £149. Thats for myself and the wife as named people with any vehicle, relay, roadside, home start. As we both ride bikes and drive cars (4 bikes and 2 cars in the stable at the moment) I can't really accuse the AA of ripping us off. ____________________ Triumph Trophy Launch Edition |

Where is this coming from?
The policy is issued to a person, not a vehicle. It shouldn't even come up unless you ask, and what some phone drone or keyboard monkey happens to tell you isn't binding.
The policy document that forms the basis of the contract has no minimum capacity listed in the definition of a motorcycle, so there isn't one. End of.
Granted, it does say "motorcycle", and a moped is a different class of vehicle, but anything over 50cc or (hilariously) capable of more than 45kph is a motorcycle, so Peddy McWheelie and his de-restricted Chinese ZingPing can actually claim that it's a "motorcycle".
Remember, you pay a truck goon up front then claim the money back from Auto Aid later from the comfort of your sofa, you won't have to argue it out on some sleet covered motorway at 3am. There is no realistic way that they could refuse to pay out if you happen to be on a 125 when you break down - the FSO or a small claims court would tear them a new policy-hole. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
